My conti has a crack in the windshield, inside, right were the review mirror connects with the glass. I need a new one before inspection comes plus i want a new windshield so i can put subs in and im afraid the pressure might just break it more? How much am i looking at for a new windshield?

Does your car have the mettalic windshield coating? If not, probably $300 - $500 for a new window, if it has the coating, probably closer to $1,000.

Do you have full coverage? If so, check to see if your insurance has full glass coverage. Most of the time with glass coverage you pay a very small amount if anything at all for any glass replacement.

yea, check with your insurance... Definately go with a new one, not one pulled from a another car (in my opinion). many, if not most of the time, used windshields crack on removal, or installation, or shortly after installing.

I doubt he has heated windshield, it wasn't common, and not even sure it was avail in 94. but if you do, you don't HAVE to replace it with another heated windshield, you can put a 'normal' windshield in, and not use the heated feature. But, they ARE VERY expensive to replace.

if you have a heated windshield, it typically has a gold or rose colored tint when viewed from outside.

Also will probably have a seperate control to turn it on.. and if on, will rev engine up to a fast idle, and prevent AC from working, and probably shut off rear/side mirror defrost. it is a VERY power hungry option..

I just got my windshield replaced yesterday on my 97 Conti. I told the company I called that a competitor was $170. and they matched. The guy came in front of my house and did it in 20 mimutes and told me $170 inclding tax.

I got a new windshield for my 94 Continental for about $180 (including installation). That was the best deal I found.
