When you brake in city type driving it sounds like the anti lock system is working all the time and sometimes continues for a few seconds after you continue driving. There is no codes showing. And the service guys say it may be the Anti lock module or a hydraulic actuator. Both of which are spendy. Any ideas?

What about the antilock brake sensors. They are mounted somewhere on the calipers. Also, check your disk brakes, maybe your brakes are low or are uneven from the front and back.

I remember one broke on me when I did the front wheel bearing on my 98 back then. I live up north and the salt and rust build up which got it stuck, I yanked it off and it broke.

Then My ABS light came on and the CHeck Traction Conrol notice came on.

Sometimes, the sensors that monitor the wheel spin gets dirty over time causing them not reading the wheel spin properly therefore not activating when it's supposed to, maybe brushing them down or whiping them clean with some dirt/grease and grim remover might help.

It's not a Continental issue, I noticed this with most Fords.

This is my best guess, it's what I would do before doing anything big.

The compressor for the Air Ride system sounds much like an Anti-Lock modulator on Full-Tilt Boogie.
Could just be your compressor topping off the airbags.

ive been having the same problem, the abs constantly kicks in when applying the brakes to a complete stop. I have checked the pads, rotors, and calipers, and it is none of the above. I am almost positive that it is the brake control module. Any ideas where it might be?
