97-98 Climate Control in 94 Mark VIII?

Yes, it's been tried. It doesn't work correctly though.

If you're willing to pay the shipping cost to Switzerland, I've got a climate control unit from a 95, (with the hard buttons that don't disintegrate) that I'll sell you...

Hi
Sounds intersting.
Is it in good shape technically and optically?
Do you have foto?
How much for the control and shipping?

Does the 95 control unit wiring match up to a 93s wiring ?? If so I would want it.

Yes, all 93-96 EATC units interchange with any 93-96. Plug and play.

gloebel, I need your shipping information so I can give you an accurate shipping quote. I've never sent anything to switzerland before, so I can't even guess at how much it would cost to ship it to you.

I currently have 2 of them. One of them has something splattered on the front of it, that I'm not sure what it is. I tried to scrape it off with my fingernail, but it didn't want to come off that easily. The other one looks fine.

Here's a picture of the one with the splatters. It would probably clean up easily, I just haven't had the chance to mess with it. I'm at work right now, and don't have any pictures of the nicer-looking one available. I can take some once I get home tonight.

Was grey colored ones in the mark? I was gonna grab one that was in a 95 but it was already unplugged and just sitting in there and not blue.I already have a 95 blue but was gonna grab the another one but not sure about it, but it did have a f7 part # replacement maybe? Does the 96 one say OFF like the early ones?

gloebel
You got two choices the 95 hard button or the 96 which looks better IMO and unfortunately there way overpriced on the bay.

Oh great I didn't know that I just can swap to a 96 Climate Control that is looking the same as the 97-98.
So then I will probably getting one from a 96 with the new design.
But when I see one in ebay how can I make shure it is one from a 96 and will work in my 94 instead of a 97-98 that will not work in mine since they are looking the same?

True, 97 and 98's do not work in a 94. It will connect and all will look good but when you turn the key on, you will most likely have full blast MAX air and no control over it. I had a 96 big button (that was said to have came from a Taurus?) in my 94 and it worked perfect.
Got it on ebay back in 2005 for about $30

I still have that Kenwood eXcelon too, in a drawer.

I tried one from a Taurus and it just ran at full blast.A 96 Taurus EATC is completely different.The one I tried was from an SHO and had a black case.As far as I've seen the blue case was only in the mark.

GMAN I'm gonna try that as I still have the 94 one and i'm sure the JY won't charge for a face plate.

gloebel Make sure the label on the side has a part number that starts with F6 to be safe.

F = decade
6 = year

That works for the most part but not everything like engine blocks if you didn't know. Like I have a 351W with D4 and most people would think it's a 74 but it's not.Just below the part number is a casting date of 8B16. Since it has the D it's from the 70's and the 4(year) is the start of that casting.

8 = 78
B = February
16 = date

Just rambling now so like I said find one with the blue case and has F6. There's a few on Ebay but way over priced. If you want I could grab the 96 style face for you and then you can swap it on to yours if you want. I'm gonna try it on my 94 that's just collecting dust.
