I've been lurking, off and on, for two or three years (lurking only when I "need" something, of course). After a brief email conversation with micahs97m8, he coerced me to finally register (if only to attempt to balance the genders on the forum ) OK, maybe coerce isn't accurate but the invite was certainly implied.
I love, love, love my car. After driving a '72 Plymouth Duster (an old postal car, no less) for 13½ years, I bought a used '90 T-bird (oh, so that's what a rear defroster is all about, and intermittent windshield wipers, and A/C, and power windows, etc). Actually, after I drove it home I squealed (yes, squealed) to my husband that I actually had to turn the heat off because I was getting too warm! When the 'bird started crapping out on me (cooling and A/C problems) I bought a used '96 'bird. When the '96 'bird was determined "totaled" after a kid in a mini-van rear-ended me (love those uni-bodies!), I thought I'd grow-up to a cushier 'bird by getting into a Mark VIII. I do like my 2 big-door RWD coupes with an engine big enough to get li'l ol' me outta the way when I need to (years of riding a motorcycle before it became "cool" for women to ride taught me that).
I "ordered" it, after much research, from a local firm that will find the vehicle requested...I remember when he called me from Tulsa while driving up the Interstate off-ramp asking if it was normal for the car the raise up  Uh, yeah, normal and requested.
I've done a pretty good job of keeping up with her mechanical and suspension needs, insomuch as I had the leaky air ride rear bags recently replaced 'cause I love the whole air ride concept...and I just didn't want to convert to springs, especially since I'd paid a dealer a few years ago to replace the front bags <sigh>
I've had her for around 6 years and I'm the kind of driver that becomes very acquainted with my ride...which my mechanic likes because nobody can give him a symptoms list and research results quite like I can I plan to drive her until either she can't go anymore or someone decides to end her life too early.
Show ride she's definitely not, but she's mine and I'd like to keep her in reasonably good shape as a daily driver that does not have the luxury of parking in a garage...ever :frown:
I find I'm in need of some interior parts:
So, all :tmi: that being said, any ideas on where I might be able to find what I need? My mechanic has run out of options through his various networks and I'm sad I've teased him by telling him I need to buy a cherry Mark with a blown engine or something to cannibalize for my personal needs (I am woman, that's what I do )
I've overstayed my welcome but hope you enjoyed the read nonetheless. I thank you for any direction anyone might be able to provide.
Gratefully,

I find I'm in need of some interior parts:
- Headliner (fabric has sun rotted at the windshield)
- Passenger interior door handle trim/bezel (tabs broke after pulling door panels to reglue after warping along windows...of which I don't think the glue is going to hold so will probably need door panels, too)
- Drivers seat skin (cracked when I got her, continuing to wear but not too bad)
- Drivers seat track (replaced once but the noise it's making leads me to believe it's not long for this life either...all glide features turned off to preserve what little life there may be, bummer)
- What ever module that allows my side mirrors to lower when in reverse then raise afterward (I can't remember what it's called and, yes, I do actually use it)
