Check the connector ends to the blower motor and blower speed control, they're just behind the glove compartment. Every Mark that I've owned(5 so far) ends up with this same issue where the connectors to the blower speed control are partially melted, not so much on the blower end.
It's a known problem that's fairly easy to access & address depending on how the blower and control module are installed. 2 of my Marks had the blower sideways with connectors facing the glove compartment whilst the other 3 had the blower upright but connectors conveninently facing the firewall, I had to sit upside down in the passenger seat for these.
