My display said that my a/c filter needs changing soon. Is it a simple job? Where is it located? How much are they?

My dad changed mine, I think it is pretty simple. You can look in your book and see where it is (A/C cabin filter). It cost about $20. I do know that there are some little black clip things that you need to watch out for because all of mine snapped when mine got changed.

Pop the hood, on the passenger side cowl, remove 4-5 push-pins to remove the cowl cover (tucks under the wiper). Under that you'll see the filter, push two tabs near the top to release it and pull it out.

The push pins are tricky devils. You have to push in the center dot first and then the pin lifts out nice and easy. If you don't push the center in, you will break the pin. You will need to remoce enough so that you can lift the black plastic cover over the firewall, just under the windshield. On the passenger side is the AC filter box, it has a couple snaps that you lift and pull and then the door hinges open.

Once you know what you are looking for I would guess you could do this job in a couple minutes. Only tool you might need is a flathead screw driver to lift the pins.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson

are ya'll buying these cabin filters from your local autozone, pep boys, and o'reilley??
