a code question P1401 egr problem

So I did a buncha searching and didn't find anyone with this problem before. Only the code meaning.

It says: P1401 Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic Sensor Circuit High Voltage

DPFE First guess. LOL The older metal ones rot and mess up. The newer ones are plastic.

Easy enough to replace it looks.

I also want to know if it is the ROOT problem or is it went bad because of something else?
I was hoping someone else that knew more about them know why they go bad.

That is NOT the DPFE in the last link you posted that is EGR soloniod. Plus DPFE's are common to go. Heard alot of Ford techs say this.

we get this alot in the shop just get a new plastic one and make sure that the hoses are not burnt into. "dpfe" is chinese for (dis part f**kup everytime) lol

Yup. Dpfe. The root cause is water in the exhaust that damages the sensor. In other words...nothing you can do about it.
