Here are a few new upgrades. I painted my woodgrain to Black and changed my gauge overlays. It looks much better in person than the pictures. The entire center section will be painted when I add my Pioneer AVIC-Z2.:D

What do you guys think?

I like it. Looks very nice and the overlays certainly stand out during the day. Can you take a night shot? I hate how hard these gauges are to see during the day but wouldn't want to be overpowered by them at night.

i want to do that as well but dont know how 2 do it. i want another color tho. looks excellent btw

where did you get the overlays? and how hard are they to install?

I got them from ebay and they are not hard to install if you are inclined. They come with good instructions. I was not sure how they would turn out because they are stickers that apply to the factory gauges but they turned out fine. Do not buy the install kit. Its just a small bottle of soap and water and a small squeegee:rolleyes:

P.S. I had the parts painted by a friend that owns a body shop so it is 2 coats of Super Black Dupont paint and 4 coats of clear. I wet sanded them and polished them myself.

Can you tell me the color code for the black...very interested on this upgrade ;)

That looks awesome...
I have a black interior, and that would be just right. On the other hand, I wonder what it would look like painted to match my Vivid Red body color...Hmmmmm

looks good.. the black does look a little plain though.. i like how the wood grain kinda makes it stand out.. but this looks good as well..

have u lookd at the lskoncepts lincoln emblem area.. they have the "lincoln" decal off of a lincoln LT on the top of the glove box.. i added it to mine.. i like how it looks.. very stock.. very clean.. very nice.. and adds a little to the plain area..

Love the look. Ive been thinking about doing it to mine since everything on my car is black. I just wasnt sure how it would look. How much did your friend charge. Do you have any regrets? Im just nervous cause "Once you go black you never go back" and dont wanna regret doing it.

Do those trim pieces come off of the doors and dash as seperate units or did you have to paint and mask in place? I don't like how much wood goes on in the LSK wood kits, I just want the wood where I now have black and maybe a few other places in the future but for now I'd just settle for factory wood stuff. Anyone want to trade my black plastic ones for your wood ones if they come off?

Thanks,

That is Dupont Super Black 801. It is not a factory color for any car. It is a custom color from Dupont and is the purest black available. It is the color I am painting the car. My buddy that owns Stoke Works is pissed off at another local body shop I deal with because they called his work :q:q:q:q so I get the benefit of a pissing match. So I am buying the supplies and preping the car and he is gonna shoot it. I can't wait to see it!!

PGA2B - Awesome upgrade. It looks like hematite. A nice shiny metallic black. If there were some silver (very faint) metallic flakes in it, that would be sweet. Nice job! :D Oh, when they paint your car, you have to post pictures. That is one sweet @$$ color!

aserrano - Dude, I thought of your car when PGA2B posted these pictures. I don't know what the interior looks like in your car, but this would make the outside match the inside.

Absolutely no regrets. If I had it to do over I'd do again in a heartbeat and my friend did it for free for me.:D

How Did U Take Them Off?

I took off the door pannels and then there are a few quick nuts holding them in and there are also a few plastic welds that need to be drilled through and then they pop off.

Looks good but the facia for the stereo and air conditioning units need to be painted, buy a faceplate kit and paint it the same color.
