Here's a few pics of both cars. I'll get some better ones when I get the windows tinted on both, and some 18's on the white car.

It does have a tight seal Greg. That's the rubber that's molded to the chrome piece on 1st gen's between the chrome and hood. You just can't see it in the pic very well. The hood on the black car will shut with 2 fingers, no slamming necessary. I spent some time on that because I hate having to slam the hood to get it to shut, like most Mark VIII's.
 
Thanks for the compliments guys. K9t8m where did you get your hood? Is it a LMS hood or supercoupe, or did you make it yourself?
 
Both look great but now the real question is did you get peanut butter in my chocolate or did you get chocolate in my peanut butter?

Awe, the thread title is misleading. I read it and hoped to see both types done gen 1 front on a gen 2 and gen 2 front on a gen 1. But those are great looking cars regardless. Am I the only one who thinks gen 2 front ends look better on gen 1's? Is this like the blondes want to be brunettes and brunettes want to be blondes debate? Or is this forum more biased to the gen 1 front on the gen 2? To the op...is the grass greener on the other side?

That may be tough to get your hands on. I had one from a fellow member on my gen 1 and then I sold it to driller. I got lucky with that one:D Good luck in finding one bro!

I've had many 1st and 2nd gen cars, and love both. I just decided for a daily driver I liked the more refined interior's on 2nd gen's but have always liked the look of the 1st gen front end. So for me I would never consider doing 2nd gen front on a 1st gen. I would like to see a pic of one that was done nice. I have seen a few pics of them, but looked liked they were cobbled together. That being said every 1st gen I've owned was faster than 2nd gen stock. And 2nd gen headlights have way more light output than 1st gen's unless you have hid housings. If anyone has a pic of a good looking 2nd front on a 1st gen post it.
 
Those look great!

I've always liked the first gen front end.

The bumpers are much easier to clean too.:D
 
Both are looking great...its too bad pictures dont capture the pearl in the techno white, its a really nice color in person.
