Hey LVC,
Been a while, yes I'm still here. Yes the Lincoln is still doing well.
I decided I've had enough of the noise I was getting from the front of my car. (Belt noise, and compressor drag)
I found out my belt was more than likely original (wow)
Also found out my both idler wheels, and the tensioner wheels were womped out. I removed them, pressed out the bearings, installed new.
I removed the outer compressor ring, and found the boots were dryrotted, and weren't allowing the drag wheel to retract. I replaced with new boots, hand sanded the compressor drag wheel smooth, greased the boots, and reinstalled.
Top that off with a new 106.5" Gates belt...
HOLY $&#%
The amount of power I lost from that compressor drag and those bearings.. Is unreal. I thought I bought a new car with all the restored power.
The complete silence from the engine compartment is simply unexplainable. I can hear the injectors pulsing and the lifters.
For anyone with these same issues. Just thought I'd check in.
Happy Friday!!
