A must read...Bush responds to Sheehan...kindof

Reagan wasn't the most brilliant guy to ever sit in the White House, but he was one of the most popular.
Reagan was despised by many here and abroad. Anytime a person pushes for change, there are detractors. History is proving that Reagan was a great President. History will not be so kind the Bush senior and to Clinton. My prediction is that history will see GW in a positive fashion. He has tackled more issues than any other President and I myself are happy with the results.

Another guy just knocked it out of the park. I guess the heat got too much. They were deleting every post critical of Cindy. They seem to letting a few thru now. If you go over there, one of the things I notice is that the people defending the Bush policy are articulate. The people supporting Cindy can only utter 'Way to go. You are so wonderful' type drivel. Interesting contrast.

Cindy, you spoke of wanting to know of a noble cause that your son died for, is your freedom noble enough, the freedom you enjoy so much and rightfully so? Because so many millions of other mother's sons died for YOUR right to protest. Our country is based on the foundation of freedom. Do you wish to deny Iraqi children and women and their fathers and husbands the same basic rights you enjoy? You might say that isn't our business. Well, if other nations hadn't made it their business, then our country might not have survived those first years. Believe it or not, France's sons came to fight and die for this fledgling nation so that we may have freedom today. If those French sons had not died for the infant USA then you would not have the freedom you enjoy now. Why then are you so selfish with your freedom? Did President Bush truly lie about WMD's? Can you prove it? Every nation in the world believed he had them and was goign to use them, how then would you judge President Bush if it went the other way, that he failed to act on the information he was given and Saddam gave WMD's to Osama? Well, no one truly knows what happened to Saddams weapons that he once in fact had. We only know they are not there now. But inspite of all that, we're there now and those people have a chance at a free nation, at freedoms we here take for granted, they long for and desire. You claim to be a Christian, do not the Iraqis deserve our compassion and help to free them from the tyranny? God only knows what can happen there but you would have them foresaken because you do not see them as worthy. What if God hadn't seen you as worthy enough to save? What if Jesus had not died on the cross for you?
God sacrificed His son for the whole world...

Here is a good example of one.

Cindy, you are amazing. I admire your strength of character and fullnes of spirit. I can't even begin to understand what you have gone through, and still go though everyday, in this epic battle of good vs. evil.
You will prevail. STAY THE COURSE !

PS. I can assure you, that millions, if not hundreds of millions around the world are rooting for you. You are our voice.

I like this guys letter to Cindy over at the Huffington Post. Guys, tons of fibs over there.

Cindy,

WHEN WILL YOU GET OUT OF CRAWFORD! We demand our headlines be returned to us! We want an EXACT time schedule for when you will leave Texas alone! We are NOT going to settle for your overly ambiguous "When Bush goes back to work, I'll leave Crawford" garbage! We want an exact timeframe for you pulling out of Crawford NOW!

We don't care if your "job" isn't finished, Cindy. In fact, we don't even know for sure you HAD any real reason to go to Crawford in the first place. You claim it is because Bush is insensitive and dishonest, but after you originally met with him, you said nothing of the sort. You are in Crawford because of a LIE, Cindy! When will you pull out???

**** See how silly that sounds? I hope you are entirely embarassed by your own comments about getting out of Iraq. Just because people speak a different language, pray to a different god, or wear different clothing doesn't mean they can't appreciate freedom and democracy. It was for this cause that your son died. You are making a mockery of him and his values. How do you even sleep at night knowing the dishonor you are heaping upon his grave?

Now here's the difference between *most* liberal and conservative commentators...(notice I said most...don't get all defensive, it's just an observation)

Liberals would usually let the joke work on it's own...assuming the reader is intelligent enough to get the irony. No need to rub it in with the last section starting "See how silly that sounds..."

:slam

What's the point of all that? You won the point...don't get in the guys face and spit on him.

I know many 'liberals' who are fans of Reagan's leadership even if they despise his politics

Good point.

1. I just agreed with that
2. He did a half butted job of it...if he'd done it properly this war would be as well supported as the first one.
3. We didn't have the support of our biggest allies...you know...the ones with money...and large troop counts...and equipment.
4. quag·mire: difficult or precarious situation; a predicament. <- makes sense to the dictionary people...
5. Top military has been quoted a conservative timeline of 10 years before a full withdraw of US Troops...we almost always leave troops in an area for generations.
6. Yes

I don't know what you mean by "improperly" - we destroyed Saddam's army in record time and stormed the city. We captured him shortly thereafter. Now we occupy the territory and are burning out the terrorists one by one. We've lost fewer casualties than in most of the wars we have ever fought. We're rebuilding the country and have established free elections.

As far as "biggest allies" - surely you're joking. You couldn't possibly mean France, Germany, and Russia? They were bought off with bribes from Saddam. They were most certainly not our allies. They were our opponents. They just didn't have the balls to oppose us directly. Try again.

We're not in a predicament. That implies things are out of control. That's not the case, or we'd be sending more divisions over there. All we've sent lately is a few hundred security troops.

Earlier you said we would be in a quagmire 10 years from now. Now you say we've occupied countries postwar for generations before. Make up your mind. There's no need to leave completely until there is rest and stability over there. We stayed in Europe until the cold war was over. That's commitment. You Fibs want to cut and run as soon as a dozen soldiers die in battle, just like your coward boy Clinton did in Somalia; the man who caused us to be labeled a paper tiger by bin Laden.

Dude...follow along with the thread... I said he should have generated anti Iraq sentiment and war support from both the public and our allies, you said he did, and I said he didn't do it properly...that has nothing to do with the outcome of the war, it's all about what you do before the war...

unless I missed a few important treaty signings and denouncements, France and Germany are still two of our most well militarily stocked allies. Along with Great Britain which was not allowed to participate fully due to internal protest. Also, Russia...still not an ally though not much of an enemy either...

We're not in a predicament. That implies things are out of control. That's not the case, or we'd be sending more divisions over there. All we've sent lately is a few hundred security troops.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/08/25/troops.iraq/index.html

Catch a news page lately? We're sending almost as many troops in right now as at our highest troop deployment over there since the war 'ended'

No I don't want to cut and run as soon as a few guys get killed...I think in general guys don't have to get killed in the first place, in specific I think that better leadership would have us out of this quagmire sooner, and yes we tend to stay in places we've destabilized for a long long long time...we should learn how not to destabilize places so our citizens don't have to stay so far from home for so long huh?

If only George Bush would get up and say this to our Country and to the World.

Yeah........ if only. I still say BuSh missed a prime opportunity here.

I had actually started a "speach" like that to address Kbob and Bryan's "questions" in that other thread. It was laced w/ enough compassion and a touch of humility to make GWB come across as a genuine human being. I decided to not post it since the topic had been overcome by events, and it would not have been appreciated for what it was in this crowd. Unfortunately for BuSh, his actions only reinforced his general arrogant, heartless attitude.

Do you guys just read and respond to every second word I say? Slow down and breathe... Think before you respond...

Get used to this, most of the RWWs here have selective reading comprehension and they end up misconstruing most of what we, with different opinions, say.

I'll bet even Johnny and barry won't touch you with a ten-foot pole if you keep spewing such utter absurdity.

Fossten,

How dare you presume to speak for me or Johnny? Your low-brow approach makes most of us quite sick. Pedal your crap elsewhere. We don't speak for you so please shut your clap-trap.
