Ok, I think the AC in my car needs to be recharged, i think the dealer said 175 but i have to call and make sure, it was about 90 degrees today and windows down didnt help what so ever. Heres my problem ..

I put the AC on 60, some cold air does blow out of the very left vent, then the middle console and left one blows out somewhat cold car. All the way to the right blows out normal air, and so does the center on the right, the back vents going to the back seats seems like theres nothing coming out but you do feel some type of air flow...

AC filter is about 32%

Now the AC itself takes a LONG time to come on its just blowing out air, then it gets a little cold, but not ice cold like the continental did ..

So i do think the AC needs to be recharged so help on that.

And if it has 60 on the control panel, why does the right side blow out normal air? i think its because of lack on coolant or w/e its called for the AC.

thanks guys.

How much would that cost me I don't think its insured .. Btw can u guys tell me what that stands for so I can tell them at the dealer tomorrow

if you are mechanically inclined you can do the DCCV yourself. there are a couple of threads on this forum that show you how to do it. as far as the recharge, if you still need it after doing your DCCV then that you need to take to a shop. i got charged 100 for vacuuming and recharging.

Yeah thats the problem, I'm clueless when it comes to the outside of the car, so i have to bring it to someone. Dish out money ..

anyone know the part number for this item?

Ford showed me one that cost $166 ( something valve on the PC ) and he showed me something else that cost $259 bucks ..

So maybe a part number would help

Thanks guys

I just did mine, and it cost me 1 1/2 hours, and $100.
The stealership wanted $155 for the DCCV, and $490 in labor...dont do it!
It took me 1 1/2 hours, and that included bleeding the cooling system. It is that easy.

I was blowing luke warm air thru the passenger side, then it turned hot, after a couple of weeks.

Once I changed this valve out, I get ice cold air...

...this part has a frequent failure rate.

So possibly the part that cost 166 would be the right part for this type of job, I'll just buy it and have someone else put it in i guess, When it comes for under the hood work, I become clueless.

I cannot find the DCCV on the Team Ford parts site.

I clicked on Air Conditioner on their page and got:
Condenser compressor and lines, Evaporator and heater components

I clicked on both links to get a long list.

I am curious about this AC deal b/c my dealership wanted $375 to fix mine.

Damn I'm gonna have to get it diagnosed so they can find out what it really is just to do that is already 100 bucks hope its coverd by warranty -extended-

PM Max at five star ford, he will be more than happy to help you out. his number is (800)-866-1520 ext 236

great news .. They called me and said that part is coverd under warranty but they still want to diagnose the car to make sure .. If its not that part it might not be coverd .. But of course its the dccv

Thanks guys

I couldnt find it either, so I called and talked to Bill Jenkins at Team Ford Parts. He helped me get the right item. It is not called out as the "DCCV", and I cant remember what it is called.
I do have the part number, but it is on the invoice in my garage...sorry

From the receite from Ford. Heres they said.

Vertify concern ac low and not cold on both sides ck ac pressures found low on freon recharge ac ck from leaks ok at this time needs more info ..

So they ran the diagnose on the car cost me 97.50 deductable from warrenty, they said there might be a leak and they recharged my freon, they want to see the car next week to see if there is a leak, i guess this put this chemical and they can only tell a week later if it leaks or not ..

So yeah, AC on both sides to run out cold air, but deep down i dunno why the driver side would be cold and the passenger warm ( before the freon recharge ) and i still think i needed that part installed. I don't know, i have warrenty on the vehicle until 2011 anyway, im sure that part will go bad before then ..

On a note, maybe thats what you guys have is a leak and not the part, who knows.

i also have an ac problem, not like this though. My ac is just semi cold so im thinking i just need a recharge, i have an 02, probably time to recharge is my guess.

I just fixed a problem very similar to this on my mothers car. Her ac has been getting progressively warmer for the past few weeks. Found out the high pressure side valve core was leaking just a very little bit. Tightened that up with a valve tool, and recharged the system just using a 14oz can of refrigerant with seal conditioner and leak sealer from Advance and its blowing ICE cold again. The windows had condensation on the outside within ten minutes.

Get a tire valve tool, and check the valve cores on the high and low pressure hoses to make sure they're tight, and then just one can of refrigerant should get it back to full charge.

I just had my system recharged and it worked for one night. I used it the next day for about 10 minutes and them hot air again. I saw a post that showed a check by holding the off and leg buttons for 5 seconds and then pushing the auto button. It ran some numbers and then all the light came on the air conditioning display. My outside temp now doesn't seem to work now. Anyone have a clue. Oh they also ran a leak test and showed nothing. Help>>

Ok guys, my passanger side starts blowing cold like the drivers side, but if I make a stop at the gas station to fill up and start the car up again, the passanger side blows hot. If I let the car sit for about 1/2 hour, its fine. But if it's 95+ outside and I'm driving in rush hour, then the passanger side starts getting hot. IS this a leak or the DCCV shorting out?
