I could easily see that the stock box would be a better choice possibly in Las Vagas. On hot days my MarkVIII was noticably slower with a unshielded filter and the box I built made all the difference to get rid of the problem.turborich said:Oh and 1 more thing, with the cone type filter you are just sucking up 200 degree + hot air from the engine bay. Unless you make some sort of a closed area for fresh cool air to be captured. Someone on here made one that looks very heavy duty and I think it was double walled for insulating it. I am not a big fan of the other thin aluminum ones though.
