okay im getting really ****ing frustrated with this air filter cover. I am trying to replace it but the cover will NOT open on the left side. the snaps do open but the cover will not. ive unscrewed that little screw. ive tried watching the only 2 videos on youtube about it but neither were helpful. I don't know how the **** it opens and im getting annoyed lol sorry. I know you are supposed to push down somewhere but ive tried that as well. down, sideways upside down everything. please help. detailed explanation and a video would be awesome if you have!

loosen the rubber flex duct so that it isn't holding the cover at all. That helps. Other then that, the airboxes are just a bitch to open AND close. Basically the top part, once unlatched, opens by lifting the back towards the front like you would open a chest or jewelry box. Then you kind of push the top piece down in order to get it to let go of the bottom.

Just finished this job, not 15 minutes ago.....pain in the freak'in arse!!! I got the old filter out with no problem, but getting the thing to button down correctly gave me all kinds of grief. Should have been a 10 min job max but took a good half hour....arghhhh!!! Looking at new air intakes....suggestions???
