air ride LS?...o_O...

Is there a way to get a stance where the wheels are tucked in the wheel well without bags?

Like its just sittingon rims kinda look, cause on the vipstle cars some guys just have them slammed with coil-overs any way for us to do that ?

You're looking at an all-custom job.

But like I've said before....anything's possible with enough $$$$$$$

You gotta find someone to make you some coil adjusters for some aftermarket springs. We went over this remember?;) :D

As far as the airbagit.com question goes, I looked into it and I would call and call and get on those guys before making a decision. I see a setup specifically for the LS but for some reason I find it hard to believe that it is a direct plug and play as they say.

If it is I am saving every single dime to get the setup myself.

Haha yeah ik we talked about it but, I talked to ummm Bigbody that had his car slammed on 20" Sevas S7's and he said he was doing intrax springs 3"drop and rolled fenders. Im thinking he cut springs but doesnt that void a warranty then some mechanic said to change spindles so i can do a safe real low drop wats that about?

I see no point of air rides unless you live somewhere warm all year, like the southern states, cali etc. You cant drive air rides or hydro in the winter and for me personally we have like 6-7 months of gay winter.... cant wait too move down south when im done school!!! :)

Ummm says who?

Many cars have air ride from the factory. This is not just air ride. It is adjustable.

And I don't know of any Intrax that do a 3" drop. Thats pretty major!

I have read about it being done for other cars and I think if it can be done for a LS the best thing to do without bags is to have that coil over adjuster made by a custom shop. I have seen universal adjusters for size specific springs rather than vehicle specific but yet again I am not sure if the LS would work out with it. I PMed the guy in the performance section that has posted about making parts for some people but he never got back to me on it.

Well its not recommended i heard. I have some buddies who have air ride and hydro and never drive during the winter. Something about the tanks will freeze and the air etc. Also that hydrohaulic fluid gets very thick during winter months etc. I think having a Full air ride system when have winter months i stupid

I know air ride suspension... were talking about a full tank set up. With switches and everything. Those tanks can only work such cold temps, same with all the electronics thats go the switches etc.

Damn Jwerner I would like to find out a place that could make custom adujstable coil-overs, ik when he said he got 3inch drop from intrax i was like wow thats crazy, asked how he did it but no response. grrrrr idk wat to do

haha I have read of lots of people that use air bags in cold weather. I now notice that you live very, very far north but you can still do it.

I don't have a clue. You can try to get a quote from some speed shops that specialize in this type of thing. I have come across some shops on line that do make suspensions for racing and such for cars that don't typically have such luck with aftermarket like us but never ever once have I took the time to look it over or ask. I know it will be expensive!!!

Like I said, I have seen adjusters made for aftermarket springs for other cars, mostly imports. They work with the factory shocks or what ever and a good set of springs.

I had air-ride on a daily driven car for over 3 years with no problems at all. I drove the car in the winter in below 30 degrees and with snow on the ground. There is a product called Air-Brake Antifreeze that you put in the whole system. It keeps all the line, valves, and bags from freezing. It is the same stuff truckers put in their systems and you don't see them having probems

I have done/owned an air-bagged and bodydropped Chevy truck, an air-bagged 00 Mustang, and a Honda Prelude with air-cylinders. All were daily driven for years with no problems and rode better and smoother than factory when done. Just make sure you have someone that knows what they are doing install it because you will have problems if you half-ass it.

actually its worse down in the south with bags because of the humidity. I was constantly dumping my water traps and draining the tank. I had to change pressure switches often as well because they would get clogged up and after time fail completely.

I had a 10 switch setup with a 11 gallon tank (I think). It was fun. It had a nice ride unless it was all the way up or all the way down. I had lines pop out every once in a while. It was a decent amount of maintainance but not horrible. Oh yeah it was on a nissan altima.

11g's in a Altima? How did that work out for you? That had to be heavy. Had to last a while to.

yeah it was heavy but then again I had 20" wheels on it too and that was back in '99 when you didnt see 20s on imports really. So that car had a whole lot of rolling mass. Not to mention the dynamat throughout.

The tank was HUGE took up most of the trunk space. I even had to take the stereo down and notch to accomidate. I had to pull the sub out of my setup and just upgraded to a 3 way front stage with 8" woofer in the door. I had the 4" mid and tweet in a custom kick panel.

I think on a good day I would get 14mpg
