I've done the same. Exactly once. Just to know that I could. On Z rated tires fresh off my brake upgrades & with a newly rebuilt front end.

Since then, the car hasn't seen triple digit speeds. No need to travel that fast and usually, if someone decides to try rolling with me on the highway, they back off after they figure out I got to 80 a heck of a lot quicker than they did and that they might have bitten off more than they can chew. Those that don't I am happy to let blow past me thinking they 'won' in a race where one driver stopped racing Keeps all parties involved happy.
