So sunday morning i came out of my house to find my 98 Navigator rear almost touching the ground. Brought the truck to my guy and he put her on the lift. First went on to tell me how the truck is spotless, all the work done to the Beverly Hills Motoring Edition Navigator is beyond perfect. The air bags are a couple of months old, no dry rot, The front end use's springs not air bags. No cracks or leaks in the hose's. They called lincoln and had one of their guys come down to check it out. He says he feels it is the air pump. Seems that he had to jump the air pump but it didn't respond. So how much am i looking at for a new air pump. Mind you i have a 2 yr extended warranty on this truck. So i would think this is covered. Lincoln called me and said they have never seen such a cleaner truck. But i don't care how clean it is, the back of the truck is sitting almost on the 20" wheels. Does this sound right ? i always thought that the suspension was a total air ride, not just the back.

Two wheel drive is rear only. Four wheel is all four. Good luck.

Does it come back up after you start the truck and it runs a few mins?

So had the problem taken care of, bad air pump. The front actually went down as well as the back. Didn't seem like it, but wasn't as severe as the back. So with the extended warranty i was well on my way. I Understand from the dealer this seems to be a known problem. Has anyone done the switch to just springs ? Obvisouly i lose the comfy ride but if it is a problem that keeps happening i would rather do that. any feed back ?
