Airbag question...

:shifty: well I finally got my car back after having the engine RnR'd but I have one small problem well maybe two, this is where the question will come in.
I get it back after a month long wait, this guy seems to be a real screw up, and l am excited driving it and decide l want to honk my horn, surprise the horn don't work and bigger surprise my steering wheel cover seems to sink in almost as if it is hallow and there is no air bag, yup but now how can I tell if my passenger side airbag is gone???
hmmm after 3500 worth or work I sure hope he didn't take them l need some advice on this.
oh and here was the problem with the olf engine

If he didn't install the airbag, the horn won't work because the horn button is in the airbag.

He might have broken the clockspring in the steering column. It connects the horn buttons, cruise control buttons, and airbag to the wiring harness. If he disconnected your steering shaft and let the steering wheel rotate, that will break it. Does your cruise control work? If you ask me, he should replace it or send it to someone that knows what they're doing to have it repaired.

1st sign - is there an air-bag light?

2nd sign - take it to another shop and have them scan the air-bag module. That'll tell ya exactly what's going on.

It's easy to pull a light bulb, NOT easy to make a computer see everything as alright...

Billcu- I agree. The clock spring is only designed to rotate so far each direction. If he didnt reconnect the steering wheel at the right angle, when you turn to full lock in one direction it could snap the clock spring.

ya air bag light is on steering wheel makes a funny noise now, it's going back this week, my car was tight and now you can tell someone was shifting through stuff. the steering is not exactly lined up straight, but what l need to know is why did he have to be in my steering column for on a engine job?
