Allison 6 -speed. can this work?

Oh how I want this. 6-speed mark VIII. It would be a perfect match.

Do yo think this can fit somehow?

But I do get the question.Now getting a 6R80 trans should be no problem.

Now, Gear Vendors would be a decent option for gaining gears on the stock Mark 4 speed tranny, had they not turned into a typical company that now sells junk.

I know that what you were told was hear say FROGMAN but there was a guy named Jay Brown that was running a Gear Venders in his 950+ hp cammer Galaxie at last years Drag Week that seemed to do just fine.

I did not know Ford was making 6-speed autos now. Which is why I was looking at Allison unit.

I was entertaining the idea in my head. I think the only thing Mark VIII could really use to take the full potential of the motor is a few more gears.

6-speed manual would be awesome. But I learned with my other Mark VII's that I converted to 5-speed that heavy cars with manual tranny are just that much fun. The whole package has to be right, suspension, brakes.
If I ever keep the car long enough, and I have to replace a tranny, it is nice to know that Ford has a 6-speed box that might work in our cars.
