hi

I bought some time ago a 2005 town car and I like it

I have just one iiseu with it. sometime my battery indicator is on, but after around 10 minutes of driving it is gone. alternator charges ok.
I think I will replace the alternator because maybe there is something wrong with volatage regulator and pcm doesnt see it right.
what do you think?

I also found cut wire under the hood. I dont know what it is for.

can anyone tell me? what for it that white wire?

Odd, I'd try crownvic.net as they know those cars better and is alot more active.

In the mean time i'd test to see what kinda voltage the alt's putting out.

ok. if the battery/alternator voltage is good, then a battery light would indicate that the system is seeing AC voltage. sometimes, this is nothing. i had an alternator do it for awhile. other times, it means the alt is on its way out the door. so watch it and be prepared.

no idea with that wire. looks kinda sketchy though.

wire seems to be original, its out from this plastic plug just like the yellow one.

I just dont know what is it for?

maybe its from alternator?

or maybe its from headlights?

in here turn signals cant be on all the time and blink when turning.
so maybe previous owner just cut this wire , if I quess right...
