What alternator is in the 2001 Continental? I've done a fair amount of research and I'm pretty sure it's the 4G alternator but I haven't come to anything conclusive.

Same as a mark viii and grand marquis its just a slim case alt for a ford 4.6. If u have one compare it to an f150 alt they mount the same but mark and conti isnt as deep. I work at a salvage yard and have been eyeballin the alt on a 01 conti motor as a spair for my mark

Continental's alternator can be replaced with a mark viii or non-limo town car/crown vic/ grand marquis. Just make sure you don't get a 120 amp alternator from a gen 1 mark viii as the continental came factory with the 130 Amp alternator.

I'm installing a 275a Singer alternator, was just curious about the casing type. Thanks for the help guys
