Angel Eye Headlights OR HID Lights??

what do you recommend on an LS??
Goooooooooood question I am just as curious myself seeing I am gettin ready to take that plung.

Angle-eyes are the halos that go around your headlamps - like a BMW - for looks.
HIDs - High Intensity Discharge - are focused, brighter, headlamps that improve visibility

HIDs were an option on 03+ LSes.

- you can add Angle-eyes to an 00-02 by either buying a complete unit, or buy purchasing the pieces and doing it yourself
- it takes a look of work to add HIDs to a 00-02, replacing the lamp, crossmembers, ...etc

I run CCFLs for Angle-eyes (did myself) and added 7000k bulbs to all the lamps to give them the HID whiter-bluish look.

Get them pre-wired it will be literally a harness that hooks right in the factory harness. I pumped to clear my front when LSK gets the pieces in.

Been debating the same question but now that I've decided on the angel eyes .. LSk is out of them :Bang

Good question I would wait till LSK gets back from vacation he might have them in a week or so. I have been waiting for awhile for both corners and angel eyes soully cause LSK is the only place I would trust and or buy my LS aftermarket parts. And I am sure I am not the only one who thinks this!

I know one thing all he has sold is Angel Eye Kits for LSs, look at his history. I still question it and maybe contact one of the previous buyers to see what they say about the kit itself.

He was a member of that other organization. Took alot of ideas from people there to try and turn a profit... IMHO. Haven't seen him there in a while. Used to go by the ebay handle russian007 but dropped it after some bad feedback. When I had the gauge pods made, he kept trying to lowball me on the price off auctions. All I know is that is alot of jack to spend on two $30 headlights and a set of $90 CCFL rings. But time is money, and it does take a bit of time to do these right.

I have the angel eye headlights in stock. I know the person you are referring to on eBay. Ilya does a quality job on his lights but I was the first to introduce CCFL's in the LS headlights. I've custom built numerous headlights and have not had any problems with my custom build headlights. The one thing that is prone to going out is the transformers for the angel eye rings however those are an easy fix.

Like Mike said above it's easy to take someone's idea and copy it. Of course it takes about 4-6 hours to complete a set of headlights so if your time is worth the $379 price tag then it's worth it. However, for the novice it would probably take you three times as long to do but it's not a very difficult process. I'm in the process of adding the CCFL installation guide to my website. After that the information is free for the taking. This will show most people that it's a fairly easy installation but it takes some time.

Believe me or not but I'm not making much on the CCFL angel eye headlights so that's why I'll end up putting the guide up on my website. If someone else can do it cheaper than have at it. It's a cool product for the LS and I love my angel eye headlights.

Now that I'm off my soap box, I have the angel eye headlights in stock if you are interested in a set. Also, if you have a black car I don't recommend having the bezel painted. It's just a waste of money since it's already black. Here are a couple of pictures of some headlights with the bezel painted red:

Count me in too Ken, i want a pair of angel eyes and the clear corner lenses... looks hotttt!!!

I should clarify...

Ken's stuff is top notch gear... always has been, always will be quality. With that, he makes sure that the headlights you get are as close to brand new as possible. Ken has the bezel's professionally painted and his installs are perfect... guaranteed. I bought a spare set of headlights off ebay and they did show some wear and tear... but so did the rest of my LS that's 5 years old with 100K miles. That's why I went the route I did. Had I had the money and wanted a perfect 100% perfect job and didn't want to mess around with it, I would've bought a set from Ken.

Man, is that a suck-up post or what?! :D
