Hi everybody,
I have an AC problem. First, my compressor wasn't turning on so I charged it up and it kicked on. When I first start the car it will blow a little bit cold on drivers side so I replaced the DCCV. so I have a charged ac unit that is turning on and a new DCCV but still no air. The air definitely gets hotter when driving and gets a little cooler when at a stop light. It seems like coolant is still getting to the heater core like the DCCV isn't shutting it off. I also ran trouble codes on the datc but is came up with nothing. I don't know what else to try. The fuse for the DCCV is the same as AC clutch and that is working. What else can it be. This heat is killing me. Thanks.

If I need to test the DCCV for power, how would I do that. Do I test the middle wire? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the reply. The car is a 2000. I ran the diag and no codes. I will test voltage tonight

So, if the voltages are okay, I think you will have three main possibilities.

1. Mechanical fault of the new DCCV.

2. One or both evap temperature sensors bad.

3. Bad DATC.

I have not tested the voltages yet but I did clamp the lines going to the heater core and it still did not change anything. One question I have is my freon or 134a. I saw a poster say he had the same problem and thought his freon was good but his high side pressure was low so he flushed the ac system and recharged the system. Does anyone know how to check the high side pressure and could this be a possible cause to my problem. As of now, the drivers side feels room temp but the passengers side is warm and gets warmer as I drive. This sucks. I have fixed so many problems on this car and this is my last hurdle that I want to solve. I don't want to take the car to the dealer. The only time I have taken a car to a shop was to have my CATS replaced.
So to recap
- New DCCV
- recharged 134A holding at 45psi low side pressure
- no datc error codes
- checked DCCV fuse and it is good.
- clamps heater core lines and still no help
- temp is warmer on passenger side even with hoses clamped

Please please help. I am open to any ideas.

any one can help me located Orifice Tube. I put 134a and well i have same prob its ice cold when im on the highway with the cruise or higher speeds 45+ with foot on pedal but when i slow down it get warmer. anyone have any ideas ?? please help its 110 with heat index here in the midwest. HELP ITS HOTTT LOL !!

There is no orifice tube. The LS uses a thermostatic expansion valve instead.

So would his problem require a replacement of the expansion valve? Any other things to check?

I think that more often it is the compressor with this symptom.

Oh ok, that sucks because my car blows cool air when stopped and will blow ice cold when driving. Once the car cools down on the inside, the A/C blows cooler than before at a stop. I just thought since we have a real feel heat index above 100° that it was just hot. I hope my compressor is not going out. My A/C hasn't been the same since I replaced my radiator and had to disconnect an A/C line. I recharged the system after vacuuming all the air/moisture out. Should I go ahead and get me a new compressor?
