This isn't mine but it should be somebody's here! (I might be kind of partial to the color :D )

1998 Continental, 98k miles, toreador red w/ tan

Looks to be in great condition, seller says everything works, no issues. The price is certainly nice and it appears to be rust-free which is surprising for a salt state. This needs an owner who will appreciate it!

Could not sell that car for more than 2500.00 up here.

Is very nice car, but.....line up here for arguments...sorry but Lincoln wrecked the rear window and rear deck and rear end appearance after 1997...and maybe the sides, too....:)-~

I have a floor of $5k for a clean, perfectly-running car. I don't care who makes it; if you can get $10k for a 20 yo Civic because "it can be racecar," a car that needs nothing and looks only a few years old is worth no less than $5k. I sure as hell wouldn't sell my car for $3k! With a rebuilt trans and new torque converter, I've now got another decade of issue-free driving. All the repairs are done - why give it away for a price that wouldn't even cover sales tax on a newer car? Most people assume my car is 4-5 years old tops and I'd take it over a v6 transportation appliance any day.

$2500 gets you a beater with a window or two that doesn't work, no AC, a bad wheel bearing, and burning oil. You can forget the paint on that kind of car too - it's gone. It's transportation but that's about it.

I'd wager quite a few people that visit this board have cars that are facing some major repairs, plus they have issues like air ride, dents, rust, etc. This is a chance to fix it all for the price of a trans rebuild.
