another tranny prob....

Ok, long story short, complete tune, new pcm (flashed at a mechanics shop) reflashed because cruise control didn't work, and now I just noticed the tranny will not shift into 1,2,or,3 gears manually. When I put the shifter into 1st,or 2nd or 3rd the display shows d5 ,and then gives me a e-brake error. If I leave it in d5 its runs and shifts perfectly though all the gears.
Do you think this could be another incorrect pcm flash? Oh, Ive also replaced the manuel lever position sensor as well

This is an 03 LS V6. I have never had a problem with it until the new pcm was flashed. The mechanic is tring to tellme its not the pcm. Any thoughts......

It's the calibration that was installed. I find it highly unlikely that an independent mechanic has access to Ford's WDS computer (where the calibrations live).

I think so. It sounds like it was flashed for the sport (select shift) transmission lever. The PCM does control the transmission and read the shift lever position on the LS.

I think I will take it to Ford and have it flashed again. Thank you for the input. It reassures me that I was right.
This mechanic has a shop with some kind of computer programming abilitys. He has to pay ford for its software usage online, and he tells me its good for 24 hours. So, he will flash several cars in a day charging 150 bucks each.
