any comments on this so called fuel saver

They work but it's only a small improvement not nearly what they are saying. they had a segment about it on our local news's "does it work" and they said it was only about 2-5% improvement at the most. kinda gimicky though if you ask me.

bowl sheet. No fuel saver works, dontcha think if they did, cars would come from the factory with them? the only fuel savers that work have to deal with the cars hard parts and computer control system, and those arent things you just buy at walmart.

You forgot the most important hard-part........THE LEAD FOOT! use it less get better mileage. Voila! Instant fuel saver.

As stated above - it's bullsh!t. This would save about as much fuel as the magical acetone theory... which is none.

Paul.

best bet is to take your magic wand, and shove it in your ass, keep the gasses building up, and fart in the tank....gas saver!

Yeah thats pretty much my oppinion too. I would not try it cause it's too good to be true. So the acetone doesn't work either?? haven't tried it and just wondering.

I've know first hand that acetone works. 3oz's per tank full and no more. the fuel saver thing works only marginally if your plug wires are in bad condition.
Are you using the acetone in your car? How much more of a mph gain did you see? I am debating using it.

I just started a few days ago I will let you know after a few tanks so I can average it out. some friends of mine swear that it helps.

If you want to save gas, try things like making sure the car is tuned up properly, newer plugs, fuel filter, has high quality oil, stuff like that. Maybe think about changing the O2s if they are old....

You, and anyone who thinks either of those works, are delusional.

A Mark VIII has an 18 gallon tank.

A gallon of gas is 128 fluid ounces.

So that's 2304 ounces.

You're adding 3 ounces of acetone, which is 0.00130208333% of the tank.

I don't care if you added that much nitromethane, it wouldn't make a noticeable difference in ANY respect at that volume. Not to mention the article on acetone is bullsh!t anyway.

Paul.

delusional? strong words for someone who is just trying to find out for myself and besides I don't believe every thing those NERDS on mythbusters do. :p
I have heard about nitro methane too, does it work?

Yes, delusional. This is one more example of internet mythology at its worst.

Nitromethane is not intended for use in passenger cars methinks. Plus it's like $875 a barrel, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Paul.

lol, paul, you remind me of my overbearing grandfather.

I'm not overbearing, but I am a professional auditor - thusly, I know bullsh!t when I see it. :) It's my job.
