Got a 95 red, non LSC for 1000. I love these cars, but I don't have the money to fix it up like I wanted too.

Cars rough in spots, has new fuel pump, ac bearing, lowered coilover suspension, straight piped exhaust. has 190K miles, motor doesn't burn oil its been about 3500 miles sense last oil chance and has only lost less than half a quart of oil. The only thing mechanically wrong is it has the torque shudder, and needs upper control arms. Price is slightly negotiable I know its worth more in parts but I have no room to part it out at. Everything else works great in the car, my loss is your gain.

Thanks Matt

I will post pics tomorrow its been raining so the car is dirty, I want to clean it up first.

I'll be in the Newton Car Show on May 7th if you want to bring it up I'll take a look at it if you still have it.

Pics!!

Sorry for the delay heres the car

Even though this car has the torque shudder I wouldn't hesitate to put it on the road, I've been to kc in it and drive an hour and a half round trip to school 3 times a week.

Shudder is easily fixed... Mercon V complete fluid swap (converter and pan) and filter change. An easy way to tell if the fluid will fix it is to go get a bottle on trans tune at napa and drive a while and see if it clears up. If so, to repair the issue go do the fluid swap. This advice is in a post I read from Jamie but cannot find this second. Upper control arms are easy. That's a nice car other than the seats.

I'd love to get rid of my shudder. Don't want to switch out fluid till i have enough saved up incase of a trans failure though. How much does that napa stuff run?

P.s. Nice g1, and my 2nd fav mk8 wheels.

The full fluid and filter change cleared up my shudder 100%. Took couple days to work itself in but then no shudder.

How much does a fluid change run? I didn't realize that changing the fluid cleared it up that quick

Up here in KC merc V runs around $5.30 a quart you'll need 12-13 because you need to drain the converter as well. It's a simple and quick fix.

Fluid swap is not always the fix and sometimes can spew fluid after you park and shut down. Mercon V has a inhibitor in it that can seep or pour past a used seal from a different fluid type. Believe me, I went thru it on my 96 continental. The MercV was the update for trans produced after a certain month in 96 and I was not one of them, as soon as I changed over to the MercV, everyday at shutdown, the fluid just poured out the front seal and was driving me crazy not knowing why. I finally thought to myself that maybe the MercV was not the recommended type and changed back to DEXIII/M. Took 3 concurrent flushes with DEXIII/M to stop the leaking from happening.
