Anyone ever bought the cheap HID kits?

on a more serious note, when i was driving one of the autobahns in germany last year, the high beams were what alerted me to a driver who needed to pass. i was going at least 125mph in a 2008 Audi TT, and it still wasnt fast enough :D

And people were ridiculing me for buying the cheapos... looks like im not the only one

I do that here, not 125mph, flash to pass fast lane vigilante’s that set the speed for everyone else and when passing on two lane/three lane highways. I also flash other on coming Lincoln LS and people that I know. It goes back to the days of my first autos, MG’s.

Seems to be a driving technique lost here in the states.

You guys buy low beam or high beam... prolly low because i barely use my high beams..... so does that mean when you get low beams it will be hid when you turn your lights on and be on stock halogens on high beams? Kinda confused or does the kit cover both.... just wondering will it always be hid or just on low beams..

Yes I only have 9006 HID low beams installed for the car so if I were to switch to the high beams they are the stock Sylvania Silver Stars 9005 that shine. There is quite a difference flickering from the low beam HID white light to the stock high beam yellow shining light but the high beams do not get used. The 9005 HID high beams that I have in my fogs I guess I could have the same ones installed in the high beam headlights, but it just seems like a waste of money since I do not use them. Take a look at the avatar.

why did you put the brighter lights in your fogs? doesn't that create an inconsistent light array? i've seen this alot, and not sure i understand...

I guess you could say because one is a low beam bulb and the other a high beam bulb that the light arrays would be different. When you look at the beams of light in person from the front it is not apparent. I went with the high beam 9005 in the fog because I was not impressed with the light output of the 9145 fog light bulb. Because the fogs are low to the ground I do not have to worry about blinding oncoming traffic and the high beam bulb shines the ground level street a lot better. Here is my site and I have more pics of the lights steagle. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2419456 by the way your car looks sharp!

wow that looks really good. nice pics. i see what you mean about them being lower to the ground so not blinding oncoming cars as much. i'm probably going to stick with the normal fog bulbs but we'll see. once i get these damn corners cleared, HIDs installed, and black out the surround on my grille it's going to be looking good.

ummm.... do you have fully clear tail lenses? If so, where the HECK did u get them? Maybe that was photoshopped?
