Anyone know whos CAMMED mark this is?

he's on the board, do a search, i think it was a group of students who rebuilt the motor.

That thing sounds really mean. I wonder what kind of power it's making?

Hmm, with just cams and basic bolt ons you can easily acheive 270whp. Im pretty sure hes got unknown pistons, manley h beams, manley ss valves, some gay cams?

cams run between $900-1300 plus gaskets and such, also special tools. Valve spring ugrade should be done also so more yet.

Its a fairly complex job, not for a novice.

If they were half that I'd be doing them right now since my cam covers are off, well one still is.

VT has a sale going on right now where all valvetrain parts are 10% off. I think custom regrinds are like 600?

looks beautiful. i may have to follow in your footsteps, but i think ill go with green.

VT doesn't show regrinds, only Comp & Crower. $985 & $895. Smaller cams don't need the spring swap but then gains will be less. Springs are another $445 if you get a lumpy one. From what I remember reading gains are decent with the modest grinds but the big ones can really produce on a mod motor. Pretty costly $ to HP ratio. You could gear and TC for less and get more speed with less HP likely. Now geared, TC and Cammed should be hot.

why spend that much on regrind when you can get new for only $40 more? $1020 through ATEC for comp cams.

i was readin in MMFF a while back, bout a month or so ago, and they had done a cam swap on a 96 cobra motor, and it neted 44hp. These were middle of the road cams, good for daily driving, but offered quite respectable performance. They also spent quite a bit of time dialing in the cams properly...but if anyone wanted to do cams for a daily driver, i honestly would follow that article step by step. That setup was arround 370hp when they were done with the cams (the torque was equally respectable), it was a basic bolt on motor to start with, so its not hard to get up to those numbers if you realy think about it, it just costs money or you better know your stuff if you wanna do it yourself.

Regrinds were I think the only thing availible at first before companies started making them for the mod motor. People probably don't buy them much anymore.

thats prolly true. but thank the good lord that aftermarket stuff is becoming more and more readily available for the mod's.

Not nearly enough. I kill for more intake manifold options. And Cams are seriously over priced, sure theres four but each one has half the lumps as a normal cam.

i totaly agree with you, but at this point in the game, beggers cant be choosers :(

Yah, the LS is screwed for mods.

haha, its the kind of car that has a decent market for aftermarket %age wise, but theres just not enough people on the road that want to spend the kind of coin us others are going to, prolly cuz the bang for the buck is not there with them :) (i never liked them anyways)

I didn't like them at first either, they grew on me a little after a while. When I bought it I wasn't really thrilled, but after driving it a bit, it started to prove itself and now its truely an extention of me.

TOTALLY different kind of car than the Mark.

That Mark VIII in the video has Comp cams, Kooks headers, Cobra intake and exhaust cutouts. It should be making north of 300rwhp easily at the wheels...

Only 300rwhp? Stock Mark VIII's dyno 220-230... BTW, I don't know how much horsepower that car has, just taking an educated guess...

Now tell me this... How does he have a cobra intake?
