ANyone need any CAR AUDIO/VIDEO??

Back to explaining things once again.

#1. there is more than 1 rep in Florida, I just explained that. If you would like his name and phone number, I can give it to you. (he is also an Autopage rep, but we will get to that later)

#2. Circuit City does have them in there main warehouse, and some stores DO stock them.

#3 Our demo vehicle has $3500.00 worth of electrical buddy. 2-240A alternators, 8 SVC batteries, and 2 BATCAPS.

#4 If you know about alarms, they are mostly wires and relays, I don't consider any alarm "high end". Autopage has a better lifetime warranty than DEI (all parts covered, and not prorated), and because we are the #1 dealer in the country, we get an outstanding deal on them....thats called margin.

#5. We are considered "high end" because we carry products like JL and Boston and Eclipse (no circuit city garbage like Kicker) and we have home theater speakers in the likes of $40,000 each. Do you consider that high end.

#6 And finally pics and proof for you, and whoever else might be reading this and actually believing you. Pics of the Tahoe, a link to show where Audio Itch ranks in Tampa, and hopefully soon pics of the Land Rover with 2 13W7's that will be stomping you on the 20th at Divine. If you even show up (which we all seem to doubt).

all depends on the setup. the w7 is a SQ sub, but it does get loud. The L7 is a almost pure SPL sub. I would never run them for daily driving, but that is my personal taste. Also I am not a fan of the 15l7, the 12L7 is the way to go if you plan to compete with I system, they are amazing.

I'd put my money on the Kicker 15" L7. Just because of the numbers.

But I'd say it all depends on what size amp you are pushing them with. The Kicker requires about 1000 watts RMS per sub where the JL Audio has an optimum output at about 750 per sub.

That rating has nothing to do with what we are talking about.
Sorry man but where is the other 2 subs in you tahoe? Thought there was 4???
Also if that is a demo car you all might want to think about cleaning up the wireing.. Looks like :q:q:q:q. I know my car looks like crap because it's mine, no one see's it. Also the tweed and LV just don't go together.. take all the tweed out along w/ the lv and it might look a lil better.

PS: I have seen mom and pop shops like you come and go. You all think your so great then one day, boom your no longer there. Just look at Car and Driver. They used to talk all this :q:q:q:q, BOOM there gone.
 
damn i might have to come down to Florida for these meets... i wanna see the Ultimate Showdown! i think a bunch of us should go down to see this haha
 
Um, we have been in business for 16 years and we plan to expand to Saint Petersburg. The owners are multimillionaires. And genious boy, the other 2 subs are behind the seats, underneath the 2 subs in the picture, hence the 4 jl 1000/1's in the back (one on each 13) As for the LV, I agree not my taste, but it wins him more women, can't blame him. Mom and pop shops do come and go....we have put a few out of business that have tried to pop up next to us. Just ask Divine Sounds. They tried Divine Sounds II right next to us.....lasted about 6 months. As for those posts.....that is sad that you had to dig for other peoples opinions....don't you think its easy to find posts on how dominating the W7 really is??? See you on the 20th buddy.....but somehow I just doubt it. Good luck with your sealed box in the trunk of a sedan.

P.S. mom and pop shop huh??? You work at a corp??? MUST BE CIRCUIT CITY THEN!! ahahahahhahahah. Only corp I know that carries Kicker. Oh, and about that money thing, If you show up I will have $200.00 that you get beat by our SUV in your class.
 
everyone knows i'm a kicker guy.... i've been doing custom installs for quite sometime, there are threads with pics etc... do a search...

power handling is merely a thermal rating.
if the mechanical efficiency of the sub is poor, it'll take a lot of power to make it do anything.
look at it this way. Audiobahn subs are rated for like 2Kwatt, and MA Audio makes a sub rated to take 10Kwatts. You couldn't give me subs made by either company and I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that a 13W7 would clobber both the audioblah and the ma audio.
Now, that being said, I am not saying that's the case for the kicker sub. JL and Kicker both make good subs, though I do very much like the 13W7s when paired with a JL 1000/1 for each W7.
the other keys to comparing these subs are the boxes used for each sub, the type of car, the rest of the system design, and, as you noted, each sub needs to get it's ideal power from good amplifiers.
the vehicle also has to have an electrical system up to the task of driving the behemoth amplifiers for these power hungry subs.

hard to compare the two subs outside of a "lab" type setting i guess is my point here.
without ideal, and controlled settings, you can't quantitatively say one is really better than the other when both are of high quality.
the square subs give you more surface area with the same box volume. that translates to a higher SPL for the subs, with equal Xmax.
The problem as you noted though, is cone flex and stress on the surrounds, which tend to unravel after hard use.
Anyway it all depends what you're after I guess.

Just confirmed, this is a db drag, in which trunk/suv does not matter, only cone area....like I said before Good luck you will need it. I am starting to believe you really don't compete as often as you say, or you would know more about the competition you claim you are going to be at. P.S. Will from Divine says that there is a white LS with the same sub set up that you have, but ported in through the rear deck thats only hittling a 151 at the dash. The :bsflag: is starting to show.
 
Motts, JL reps dont work at car audio shops. Smell again, just an experienced salesman who has sold both for many years, and has no bias. And you are right, they are both good in there own ways, and both have flaws. JL flaws=price. Kicker flaws=SQ. But the fact remains with each sub in its optimum environment, its not too much of a fair fight. A solo x and a w7 is a little more realistic. Or a w6 and an L7. Or a w3 and an L5. But I can't really make you believe until the 20th. I will report the true results then, and you all can decide for yourselves.

sorry, not a full contact fighting event... its 2005 USKBA ACTION SPORTS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. This will decide on whether i want to go pro or not.. To step it up a level.. currently 33-0-1 32ko's
 
After calling kicker and looking on their website, your shop is not a kicker dealer.... Why do you say they are. Oh just in case you say you not listed there they said no shop by that name in tampa is a kicker dealer.

Also as for the blood drag, yes anyone goes head to head....
As for the comp comming up on the 20th.. there is classes not head to head..

Motts, that last message was not towards you, that was towards the other cat that thinks JL is the best in the world. As for your system Damm the solo x ar hot. I am looking into them but not sure how to get all that power out of a lincoln. highets alt. is a 220 amp from ohio generator, that's what I have.
That :q:q:q:q sound hot just can't waite to see it.

I said I have dealt with kicker, not deal with kicker. I worked at Sound Advice previous to Audio Itch back before they dropped kicker like a bad habit. Read the posts a little closer before you try and make yourself sound smart. I must really be getting to you if you actually called kicker to see if I was a dealer....obviously by the last few posts in which I dogged Kicker for being a Circuit City brand you didnt put 2 and 2 together. I also said we were a "high end" audio shop, which would then also lead you to believe we don't carry Kicker. Why on earth would we carry that brand when we are the number 1 independent dealer for JL in FL. Do some research on that if you dont believe me. And again I will repeat myself.....yes there are classes and not head to head, but you will still be in the same class as the Land ROver, because they do not go by type of vehicle in db drag (already been confirmed). But don't worry, you are 158 at the dash right??? You should have no problems. :dj: And P.S. Kicker can be bought through a distributer, so if we wanted kicker we could still order it.
 
:Beer no pun intended... You do not understand how much I literally hate JL audio.. I have fried so many of their :q:q:q:qy ass amps, blown some speakers.. I have 4 w7s... and I would wrather use the ar15, I think they make a nice bullseye...
How about this.. If Kicker beats JL down at this competition, me and galantszziooooiouJLrep do some hand to hand combat!!
