August 13th Chicago Area Blowout

I want to test the waters here a little -

I have been talking with Jibit and Mespock about doing a meet similar to what we did in NJ last month.

How does this sound?

August 13th -

Noon - 5:00pm BBQ and Picnic at a reserved forest preserve picnic area. We would have our own reserved parking and picnic area, a reserved shelter, etc. There is fishing there too.

At 5:00 we would cruise about 2 miles into Downtown Lombard for their Cruise night. They have a live band, food and a ton of heavily modified cars.

(This is located about 1 mile from North Ave and I-294)

I have talked with the Chicago area Classic Cadillac Club and they are interested in joining us - so we can expect to have 10-15 classic caddies around as well.

For out of town people I would help arrange hotel accomidations.

I would want this to be a blowout, Bigger then NJ.

How many are on board???? Im tossing this out 2 months early so people have a chance to plan, and I can get necessary reservations in place.

Technically the preserve is in addison - its called cricket creek - we'll have a reservered area with a special use permit.

That's the only place we've done things except the Auto Show!

And you guys in Chicago need to get your courage up and do a little traveling!

I live 3 hrs from Chi Town so Come on people! Lets do it.

I'll be making the run to Chicago 3 time that month. First on the 9th to take my daughter to the airport, 13th for the meet, 24th to pick my daughter back up!

So a 3 hr drive is not that bad! Come on Midwest lets have some fun!
