Auto Lock help ASAP

I was showing my friend how my LS has auto windows down which i learned in that thread with all the coo sh!t the LS comes with stock.. well he told me i could roll up my windows by sticking the key in the keyhole and holding it to the right.. so the windows went up.. i did the key thing to the left and the windows went down.. FINE..


now when i go to lock my car with my stock or factory alarm, MY door lock does not work. I am assuming that I changed some sort of feature and I need to know how to change it back... can someone please help me?


When I lock my car my door stays open.. and I dont want my indash-system-and plenty of more valuable stuff stolen.. thanks!
 
sorry I dont have a clue. I would try press lock once on the door controls then hit it twice on the remote. that might work
 
try checking the batteries in the key fob.... they're regular button batteries..
the key fob pops into two pieces
 
all the other doors lock and unlock.. it cant be the battery.. its working for everything else u get me?
 
does the driver door lock when you use the button inside the car, and does it lock when you use the key?

the button inside the car does not lock the driver door or unlock it.. but it does for all the other doors?

it does lock and unlock when i use the key...
 
I'm guessing that since you exercised the lock with the key for the first time in a long time you dislodged something or got something stuck inside the lock mechanism itself in that door that now is preventing the relatively-weak servo motor that locks/unlocks that door from doing its job.

Big run-on sentence but I think you'll get my point. I'd try exercising the door lock again with the key.
 
i lock and unlock the door repetitively with the key... its my only means of opening and closing the door...
 
I'm still betting that's the reason (something is preventing the servo motor from turning the lock) and not some hidden feature you turned on.

But then again, I haven't found out about everything with this car yet!
 
well i have lambo doors.. i can open the door up and down.. left to right.. shake it around.. but i dont hear anything that would be actually blocking the door.. pls tell me i dont want to open the door panel.. i'll see this afternoon how everythin goes.. thanks for ur help though
 
What year is your car. Cause electrictronics are not supposed to last forever, maybe when you were showing your friend you finally just shorted out the electrical locks or they just gave in and you need to replace something. To me your problem sounds electrical i dont think you turned something on.

Have the drivers side door lock checked by someone or check it yourself by removing the door panel, because if the other door locks work then its something in the door that just broke. Probably something small. But yet idk cause first, im not a electricain and second, ive never had it happen to me. Good luck

the problem is that I have lambo doors.. its a mission and a half to get into the actual door panel.. the dash board blocks the door a bit.. and its hard to get to the door when its up.. see....?

btw nice head unit. anyway, thats the draw back on lambo doors i guess. if you want this probelm fixed u need to get in the door itself, so ull have to take the doors off completly. if you dont want to, take it to someone u trust and have them do it (like a bodyshop, with taking off cosmetics like doors and panels i just dont trust regular engine mechanics.), im sure they will make sure its done right. otherwise get in a garage and start taking the door off. i would save the hassel and have someone do it professionally the part u probably need is cheap and i dont think they will charge you a :q:q:q:q load for taking off one door.
 
i'll take off the door myself..i had my window fall off its track once and had to do something crazy there.. all i need is a knife and a phillips screw.. along with a condom and barbwire. i'll get that door open today..


i was told that more than likely i fried an actuator..
 
I would say try to take off the door panel on the door there might be something blocking it like anything never know
 
ima take apart the door panel today.. i get a chance to get out of work early today.. after that i'll see what happens.. my friend is also going to pass by in his licnoln so expect pics of two of the nicest LS' in miami, FL

i would post pics of the install.. but its the door panel.. the only reason to post pics is so that others can laugh.. not good.. :)
 
i wouldnt laugh i would like to see an install so when it happens to me (which it will with my luck) i know how to fix it. Thanx in advance
 
if my friend comes with the digicam.. i will take pics of the actuator and where it goes.. no point on the disassembly of the door.. mine is diff. than most
 
well.. i took apart the door panel.. next is to test the actuator i have.. my power tester light broke so ill so it tomorrow
 
i will.. my friend left with his cam so i couldnt get pics.. but i did post pics of our cars together in another thread
