Auxiliary Coolant Pump question

Does anyone know the part number for the auxiliary coolant pump and possibly the wiring harness attached to it? Where is a good place to get these? Is it a bad idea to get aftermarket, or should I get motor craft?

I rather doubt there is an aftermarket replacement. Your friendly dealership will be able to look it up under the name "auxiliary water pump". Harnesses are harder through a dealership - usually need to go to a junkyard. I have several Gen 1 units, but I don't know if they interchange with Gen 2.

The only one I have found is motorcraft. In the process of replacing mines and the DCCV, figure might as well do both. At the same time since one sit right on top of thee other.

Just wanted to mention the pump is in fact a BOSCH product and is compatible with several other cars, including Volkswagen, Mercedes, Audi
and the Jaguar.



It's a BOSCH 0392 020 071 // 12V water pump



FORD's specific BOSCH number ends in -071 and -039 is also compatible.

:: Ironically if you open two separate windows, search for both 01 & 04 HVAC Water Pumps, you may take notice it illustrates the same P/N 18D473, yet for the 1st GEN you get to pay $197.03 for it and for the 2nd GEN you can have it for $172.85

To fully learn if it's not functioning, you can carefully grab a hold of it while the car is idling, should feel it vibrating.

If you have no or little heat from the interior dash vents at idle and it does give lots of heat at higher RPM's,
it is then in fact a defective Auxiliary Coolant Flow Pump.

PS: any second GEN owners that have pulled theirs out already may be able to confirm by means of removing the rubber mount around the can,
to expose the whole BOSCH P/N, including the stamped FORD P/N on it.

My old/new ones read: BOSCH 0392 020 071
and on the plastic base it read FORD 1W4Z-18D473-AA

Both GEN's seem to have the same BOSH numbering on it from what I read/saw.

So your basically saying the aux coolant pump from either a gen I or II will work? What about the wiring harness connected to it I need that as well

Contact local dealer for wiring harness. Not sure why you would need the connector/wiring unless it got damaged somehow.
