Sure, why not? we have been asking for one for months and now someone is finally listening, I took my intake off because the damn thing was too hot. And what does it matter what I think, what gives you the right to question what I am and what I am not entitled to? If anything, you should be pushing for the same thing as me since you own a KKM.

I actually agree with you. I have the 02 LSE, and feel that from the beginning, Lincoln should have had the variable timing in the pre-03 LS's that they later placed in the 03+ LS's.

I currently have a call in to Henry Ford, Jr. requesting that they add variable timing to my engine so that I can get that extra horsepower present in the 03+ LS's.

I'll keep the forum informed on my success with this request.

Actually, KKM did some pretty extensive tests on under the hood temperatures and concluded that at highway speeds there was little need for CAI. However, I am an old hot rodder from way back, so I made the one shown above. At around town speeds there is quite a difference in the under the hood temperatures of the intake after installing the CAI. I never ran a dyno run so I just have my seat of the pants impression that it helps some around town. If they indroduce a well designed heat shield, I will be in for one.

Some should also remember that KKM came out with their system, long before K&N got around to our cars.

If you weren't a tightwad, King, in the firstplace you would've ponied up and gotten the K&N with heat shield instead of the KKM without.

So I think the price of a heat shield after buying the KKM evens out with the fact you could've gotten the K&N to begin with.

If you think your so "entitled" to it or so "displeased" with it, but don't want to give up the cash, then go make it yourself for cheaper or stop complaining.

Being a tight wad has nothing to do with this situation, in fact I don't think my finacial well being is any of your concern since this LS is just a daily driver for me and not my only car. If I were a business person and my customers were displeased with a product and another product offered something that mine didn't, I would be damn sure to accomodate them in any way I could rather than saying oh well just buy it.

After speaking with Warren at KKM he is stating that he should have something ready to ship by mid-February. Also, here is Warren's comment on the cost:

Then what are you complaining about? Even if it was recommended to you, did anyone force you to buy the intake without heatshield over the one with heatshield? So then please explain to me why your entitled to one all of the sudden? Because your unhappy about the fact they are making one now?

Ok well maybe I was unhappy with the S&B filter that was on there when I bought my KKM. Since they offer just the MAF housing now am I entitled to send my S&B filter back and get a refund?

Mid February or early spring sounds great, I should have the wheel/tire and brake combination done by then.

On a side note, as the originator of this thread, I don't see any particular upside to the petty bickering when performance upgrades are at such a premium for our cars. Anybody willing to develop and market performance upgrades for the LS should be applauded. Whether or not you wish to purchase them is an individual decision.

Bought the B&B performance line air kit and performance module. The air kit does not fit the 2000 Ls well and I wonder if the module even works. You will not get good service if you wish to return items and they will not give out a contact number to talk to them in person. Only e-mail. I tried to obtain a phone number through various ways and one could not be found. My advice is to stay away from from this site for anything. Much better products and service can be found elsewhere.
