i need to remove the balancer/crank bolt. so i can pull the front cover and look for the source of noise im hearing.

300$ 33 gal 5.1 scfm@90psi.

80$ impact 650ft/lbs @5.0cfm

do you think this set up will remove the crank bolt?. i ask becuase iv read afew times that people couldnt get the bolt out even with an impact....they had to use the starter and a breakerbar.

I've never done it but I can tell you I've seen many many credible sources say DO NOT USE AN IMPACT. The oil pickup tube will vibrate to all hell and break and then you are SOL.

Just wanted to post that so you were aware.

I've done it with nothing more than hand tools. A heavy duty "strap" wrench to wrap around the damper pulley and back it up against the ground and then use a six point socket with a long handle 1/2" breaker bar.
