Beat an LS-1 today with stock mk8 :)

I know how you feel, Rich. My family is all GM... my dad's always owned GM (his baby is a '68 Camaro- very fast) and when I bought my '67 Cougar he said "I thought I raised you better than that". Haha and you should have seen the look on his face when I took out an $8000 loan to build a race motor for it! I can't wait to see what he says when I start throwing the money at my Mark.

p.s. as for there being no replacement for displacement... normally I would agree. But today I trounced my dad in my 4.6 Mark when he tried racing me in his 5.9 Durango. I think I was more suprised than he was.

I was/Kinda still am GM. I only got into the marks because of my parents buying one when I was still in school.


Every car I have owned prior to the marks, has been GM.

LS1 F body is a very quick car that lends itself to mods very well. A C-5 Corvette is even quicker. I have a ton of respect for those cars. As a matter of fact, if you were running 13.40's, you have a very slow LS1 for what's out there. But to say you could out run everything but exotic sports cars is ludicrous. My old 89 5.0 ran 12's. My 04 Cobra runs 11's. Hell, I can think of a half a dozen ricers that would absolutely embarass you with that kind of performance. Every seen a 9 second Supra...or even a low 12 second or better SRT4? Tons of 'em. Well, maybe not a lot of 9 second Supras...but a lot that run 10's.

I can't believe I even responded to that.

He did beat it, I was the the camaro had the hit and every thing, the only thing was that it was on a trailer getting pulled be a v6 S10 which he barely beat
 
dude any ls1 would have murdered you and made you want to bang your mom, post count gets higher.

I have killed this thread once already. I left it open after the forum reboot, because I thought we could give it a second chance.


If we keep getting the "kill this thread" responses, i'll do it. We can still discuss this (no matter how unlikely), and have a good time doing it.
