Best oil for my 03' v8?

ok well im about to change my oil soon and i was wondering what you guys suggest. under the hood it says 5w-20.

my dad was telling me to go with mobil1 synthetic 5w-30. what do u guys think?

I use Mobil 1 5w-20.

use the grade of oil that the car's manual or under hood markings would suggest. if it says 5w-20, then use 5w-20.

Consensus goes with synthetic and use what you want to spend. Low price, Wally World house brand up to Mobil One/Royal Purple/ Amsoil.

Filter: anything but Fram.

When to change: 3K to 15K.

Just better made filters out there for about the same money that do a better job. If you are spending more $$ on oil buy a better filter especially for longer interval oil changes.

Just Google Fram filters or oil filters or best oil filter ...or anything like that. and click on a few of the links. You are sure to find many sites that have documented why to NOT buy Fram.

Try a search, there are a million topics on this. My choice is Amsoil 0W-30, but that's what I've put in everything I've owned for 12 years and 325,000 miles.

If your not a DIY type then make sure you use a place reputable to change your oil also. I dont just mean the name of the company but a shop that you have some personal history with or good references. Might sound petty but I've heard plenty of horror stories ie filter not snugged on and so on. Nothing like having to replace a motor cuz the oil ran dry. That said I go to a local oil changers and use what they reccommended. 5w20 synthetic in my V8. 2004 with 48k miles and the oil still looks clean being drained.

Ive only changed my oil in my car once so far when i first got it a few months back and i went to about 6 different stores and noone had my oil filter in stock. The only one i found available for me was a fram and it cost me 30 bucks. I live in canada but any idea where else i can look since i have to change my oil soon.

i used mobil 1 5w-20 6qts. with the motorcarft filter it seems ok till now

Walmart Super Tech full synthetic 5w-30.

Per it's specs, it exceeds Ford's requirements. And it's cheap.

I just use valvoline , changed at 3000 mile. I run 5-30 in the hot months and 5-20 the rest of the time.
