Best Place for an Oil filter relocation kit

Why? Do you not like the IMPOSSIBLE location of the current filter? LOL
Anywhere up by the p/s cooler area is excellet. You can use and existing area or fab up a bracket very easily.

Oh man - the first time I changed it I got the filter off but didn't figure how to contort it out of there for at least 10 minutes!
The relocation kit also allows for me to run the FL-1A filter which I have a few of.

I had to put forged brass elbows in mine after the oil filter plate. the hoses kept pinching because they werent quite long enough to reach to the P/S resevoir & they made my car go Clack Clack Clack! for a few seconds. The line pressure makes the kinks fold right into.

I'm thinking I'm gonna get one for my car... It's not THAT hard to get out, I just don't like how is covers the damn power steering pump in oil....

Aside from making a mess of the K member - it's not worth doing IMHO (yes I'm aware alot of you have done this mod). You're adding many more potential leak points, and are going to spend alot of time screwing around installing it to save just a few extra seconds on each oil change.
After doing a few oil changes on these birds you get to learn real fast as to how to manipulate the old filter out, and the new one in. It takes me just a few seconds more than doing my MN12's. If it matters, I also do mine on ramps, NOT jacked up. I don't think a dropped or compressed suspension makes a difference though.

On my Thunder chicken I just pay somebody, and read hot rod while I wait! I'm with Kev, not worth it, but then again some people think tint is a waste of money too, to each his own.
Has anyone put it in there wheel well behind the iner fender under the battery? Just a thought?

with my 1 5/8 swaybar I have to drop the bar to change the filter....yes I have tried everything everybody has suggested....only thing that has worked is lowering the bar.....thank god for long oil change intervals.

Relocating the oil filter gives you the option of using a full size filter. Also gives you the opportunity to use a dual filter set-up. Both options are better than the half size filter that is standard on our cars.
If the pumbing is done correctly, it will provide years of leak free service.
I have not done this mod on my Marks but have done so as well as add mechanical oil pressure guages on my other rides over the years without leaking problems.

When you start up, the oil is pumped through the filter and then to rest of car, right?
So, if you have a relocation kit, say, up by the PS reservoir, doesn't that mean the oil now has to pump up there from the sump, return back down, then go through the engine? i.e. increased 'dry' time?
Maybe I'm just over thinking it? Lol.

Well, if we all wanted to cough up the dough to spend on a replacement engine, we could have easy access to our oil filters like you unity! But why change an engine, if it's not dead or worn out?

Dang it, someone told ya... 
I still wonder if an Aviator oil filter adapter plate and an Aviator PS pump would mount to a stock Mark block. I have my doubts, but if so it would be an option if someone had access to a damaged Aviator engine with accessories.
