I prefer a foot-long turkey and swiss myself.
:D

I believe a few people have w7's on here and everyone seems to like them... but I'm not the best audio guy here by any means.

That is a good question. For space requirements I would go with the single 13W7, and at 1000W you are in the optimal performance for that sub.

But, if you go with 2 12W6's your enclosure will not be much bigger than the single 13W7 is. JL recommends about 1.9 cubic feet for the 13W7, and 1.25 cubic feet for each of the 12W6's (sealed enclosures) and roughly 2.4 cubic feet for the 13W7 and 1.5 cubic feet for each of the 12W6's. So, maybe it is not so much space, but the price you can get for each of the 12W6's or the 13W7.

Hope that might help a bit. :shifty:

Here is an ok install of a single 13W7 in an Audi.....

the 13 will take out less space and be pushed to its optimal performance.. but ur gonna prolly get more bass with the 2 12's even though u should put more power from an amp.. if u want u can get the 2 12's and later add more bass with another amp.. it all depends on u.. i got 2 12 inch kicker L7's now and everyone loves em

2 w6v2's on 1 jl 1000/1 in a sealed box, what else should I get besides the obvious stuff?

Lengthy amount of wiring, and mount the box. My Ground and B+ wires pulled out and fried my amp because Best Buy didn't put long enough wiring in. Odds are they'll replace it, they seem sensible.

If I were you id definitely chose a different amp and possibly sub unless you have alot of cash to spend and are stuck on JL Audio. If thats the case then Id have to pick 2 12w6v2s over a single w7.The dual drivers will yield more output than a single sub setup...If you did go with the W7, ditch the JL 1000/1 for any decent amp that puts out 1kw at 3ohms. That amp costs too much for so little power. Also, its terribly inefficient and draws WAY more from an electrical system than most other class D amps. Check out the possibility of getting a pair of Image Dynamics IDMax's, after alot of research and listening I bought a single 12" Idmax and a Viper d1200.1 which feeds my sub 1200 watts rms, the SQ is amazing and PLENTY loud for me, if you had 2 of em youd go deaf in 10 mins or blow the car up!! I switched to the Image sub but before that I had 2 12" Alpine Type Rs(2005 version) in a 4.0 cuft enclosure ported to 30hz off of an Alpine MRD-M1005 and it damn near blew my trunklid off and rattled my brain loose, it was too loud for me and another set of subs I was VERY impressed with for the price. There are SOO many options out there, and if I were to change to anything else it would be to add another Idmax and change my amp to the Viper 2400d or pick up a Resonant Engineering XXX check out www.reaudio.com and look at the XXX,that thing will SLAM and as for an amp you can find alot of good options out there, I am very impressed by Directed Audio(They make Viper,Orion,PPI,Directed, etc)I have abused the hell out of my amp and it just keeps performing and giving my sub all it wants. I got my viper as a refurb off of ebay for like 250 bux and I am amazed. What exactly are you looking to get out of a system and what is a budget? Jump on the forums at CarAudioForum.com and do some reading/posting before you go out and buy a system...there are some very knowledgable people and good reviews.

Like I said I am a HUGE fan of the Directed stuff, you can check ikesound.com and look at the Directed/PPI/Viper amps they have some refurb PPI amps for very cheap or you can check ebay and get the same VIPER d1200.1 amp I have and it would be more than enough for those subs. Or search around on the caraudioforums and look at some reviews or post some questions...what voice coil/ohm are the subs??
