so how did it end??? (yes i spent the majority of the day reading through that...shhh)

I think the guy ended up suing Jamie but I don't really remember all that much.

and thats why I like venturing over to the other side every once in a while!!!

can you really even sue? I hate people.

I am no lawyer, but I would have to imagine there would have had to been some kind or written agreement that Jamie does said work and then guarantees it.

You can always sue. The only question is if you can win. (Even if you lose, you cause the other side to spend time and money defending itself.)

you have got to be kidding me, water flushing out the crankcase? no way ANYBODY is that stupid... i just cant imagine somebody with that little mechanical knowledge even being able to A: find the drain plug B: know what the right tool even is or C: i'm surprised he was even able to sue a jack in the first place, i could just see him out there trying though, pumping away wondering why the hell its not going up! lol

Oh, they can be. When I was in the military over in Germany a buddy who went back to the states loaned his car to the barracks rats while he was gone. They decided to be nice and do an oil change for him when he was due back. They drained the oil, replaced the filter, then filled the engine with oil. All the way to the top. They stopped pouring oil in when the oil started running out of the oil cap. Then, they started it. Wound up bending the rods. The car was a complete pile, so the guy just bought another car (no idea if the barracks rats helped on that or not) and he gave me the car. I stuck a 500 dollar junkyard engine in and drove the car for about 2 years. Offered to sell the car back to the guy for what I had in it for parts but not labor, because I'm a nice guy like that, but by the time I had it running he'd already had another car. It was a little POS Ford Escort. Later sold it for about twice what I had in it.
