I searched a few threads and didn't find my answers.
About a year ago my blower quit working. Members here told me about the orange/black wire fix. I did this and it's been working ever since.
Every now and then it would stop working and start again without any help from me. Today it's not working so I thought I would check some things.
I checked the blower motor module and have 12v coming out. I checked the orange/black wire up to the blower and have 12v coming out.
Is there something else I should check before buying a new blower motor? Is it as easy to swap as it looks?

Don't know what else to tell you to check besides the blower motor control. Maybe it's bad and getting another one out of the JY is pretty simple, along with another blower motor. If those connections are good, it has to be one of the two I would guess.

I may just pull the blower motor and apply 12v to it on the bench and see what happens. I get 12v up to the motor.

That's what I'd do and yes, it is that easy to remove. Not bad at all to get out. When you unplug that controller box, look at the prongs inside where they plug in to see if they're melted. I posted a pic but it's kinda small. You'll see them when it's unplugged.

Would it still put out 12v if it's bad?

Yes, just got done. The motor works intermittently. I believe it's on it's way out.

Don't want to get a jy motor. Does anyone have any suggestions on what brand to get and where. AZ has some for $30 but....

I would like to get one you guy's think would be a good one!

$27 more and that includes shipping, you can get Motorcraft. You see how long the last one lasted.

$76.79 at Rock Auto....

I'm also having this problem. It blew for a couple of days after I purchased the car and then there was nothing. I took out the blower motor from my old Mark and installed it along with the blower control module and still nothing, even after crimping wires leading between the blower and control module. Could it be the head unit? It turns on, the buttons all work, but is there something I could be missing?

Did you test for voltage?
If you remove the head unit your blower should blow on HIGH with no head unit attached! That would be a way to check the blower and relay.

I checked the one that i replaced and it wouldn't work, so i swapped it for one that was in my previous car that worked fine it but won't blow now. I guess I need to go ahead and check it also

OK...I'm still working on this problem.
I have determined that the blower motor and control module are good and that I either have a bad connection or bad wire somewhere between the control module and the power source.
I've had the console out several times in the last two years but don't think it's anything I've done. Dash has never been out.
Does anyone have or know where to find a wiring diagram for the blower motor back to where it get's power? 94 VIII

I need to check every connection and wire from power to the blower motor!

Thank's for any help you can provide!

You pulled out the black and orange wire harness all the way for inspection right?
I had to replace one wire and one end on kstrombergs car to get it working properly.
The wires when plunged in on the modual end would read 12v but it would not work when plugged into the blower.

I had the wire out and removed the ends from the plastic clip to tighten everything up over a year ago. Put it back together with the wire tie fix. Could it be the wire again?

If you do end up getting a new one I'd suggest a motorcraft one as well. I had to put an aftermarket one in my TC and it's noisy.

Ok it's 30 degrees out today (warmest in awhile) so I had an idea and decided to play around with this. I believe I have a bad eatc or relay.
I made a wiring harness and connected it to the +/- side of the battery with a 30a fuse in the + side of the wire.
Ran the harness into the cabin with a switch also in the + side of the wire (laying in pass side floor board for now).
Didn't cut anything so I should't have any problems putting it back together when I fix it the right way.
Unplugged factory orange/black wire from the relay and plugged home made harness into it.

Dam...I have heat! And it blows with no problems. This should get me through till warmer weather.
This proves that the orange/black wire and the blower are good!
It was a little cold so no pic's.

I had water drip down over time into the controller and mucked up the circuit board producing a buildup of whatever is in the water. I cleaned it up with alcohol and it fixed my problem at the time.

When warmer arrives I will put everything back together and remove the eatc. The blower should blow on high when the eatc is removed. If it acts up then. Then I know it's the relay. I will attempt to open and fix it first since it's an expensive puppy new.
