so last night i decided i was going to replace my trans shift solenoid and filter well i had the hood up after i got the trans back together so i could put in my fluid. well all ova sudden it starts raining like crazy so i lower the hood on the latch but not latched. well when it stopped raining i got in the car to start it and it just cranks and cranks but nothing. i checked my EEC fuse and it keeps blowing. i dropped the tank and checked the power to the pump and nothin then i check the cut off in the trunk and the same thing. i put a 50 amp to see what would happen and it actually started but the fuse popped shortly after. i think my fuse box mite still be wet but it was like 95 all day today anyone have any idea??

when my fuse box got wet a couple years ago, I had all kinds of problems with fuses blowing. My car didnt run right for a long time. Until it dried though it wouldnt start and than the anti-theft stuff went crazy. But yeah I had to take it all the way apart and clean it and dry every part to it and put it back together and that stopped all of my problems. and when it first got wet is when the car wouldnt start because one of the fuses blew (forget which one it was) and than when I would change them they would blow just like yours did until it was taken apart and dried.

Another thing before you go through all of that, I forgot to tell you the first step I did. Check all the wires coming in to the box, all of the plugs and make sure you dont have any frayed wires grounding out or broken wires touching metal. sometimes they will fray inside of the plug itself so its hard to see, so inspect the plugs real good and make sure they all look good and tight.

it sounds crazy but WD-40 is great for displacing water from electronics ive also used denatured alcohol to help remove moisture from computers

thanks for all the info with this fuse being blown it controls the ignition and fuel so what i did is made a little switch and fusible link to the pump and tried it and she kicks on and the rail is gettin it. im gonna drop my tranny pan again and make sure that i didnt pinch or pull any wires with installing the shift solenoid. if that dont work ill do what both of u guys said take the box apart and get some wire drier or wd-40.
