Blown8 Kansas state

I'm leaning towards a 9.5" 4000 stall. That should be worth a half second with headers and after that we'll see what's left in the tune. The tune on it now is very safe with a bit more hp and a lot more rpms on the plate. I'll probably be pushing 450rwhp at that point. High 11s? Maybe. We'll see all in time. Just testing it out earlier with manually shifting to get more rpms in the gear was noticeably faster but the rev limiter comes very quick

how does it feel on the highway home?

We're not headed back until tomorrow but I have had it on the highway. The Vortech likes rpms so it gets crackin' hard on the highway. I had a little fun with a newer Jaguar on the way back to the BBQ. I put him in his place and let off right away. Lol. I will try to get a short video tomorrow. I have raced a new Coyote stang in my silver car and lost by several car lengths. I think this car would hang right with him if I had the chance again. And that's just for starters with this car. It's slow. Lol

Just took fellow member Chris out for some WOT in the blown8. Things get very nasty upon boost. This car is going to be a monster.

2 things I have noticed with the tune. The shift points need to go much higher and the line pressure is a bit too agressive for mytaste.

duuude. lol. he punched it at 30 with a down shift and it just lit the rear tires. it was awesome. and its so smooth and quiet while doing all this as well. its a bit deceptive, but man it is fast.
seriously awesome car.

Had a great time with everyone yesterday. The boys left an hour ago to head home. Kirk, Mike you ever make it back to the KC area again you have a place to stay.

Hey all! We made it back here to Minnesota safe and sound and only sipped about a cupful of meth out of the tank on the way back. :p I will have more to say later as I am headed over to my sister's house now for a celebration dinner for my 55 year old father who just completed the 26-mile Twin Cities Marathon. AND he finished faster than everyone in his church that participated, and being the pastor of the church (yes I am a naughty preacher's kid lol) that should be an interesting intro to next week's sermon LOL.

The highlight of the trip back was running into a brand new SS Camaro that seriously wanted a piece of this pie. I kept hitting record and then starting over again in hopes to get a good video but then traffic made me think that I had better pay attention and put my phone down. Anyhow, once traffic cleared, I was behind him and that car got out of his way and he just matted it wide open. I followed suit and got into the boost from about 65mph and crawled up on his bumper so fast that I had to let off so that I didn't rear end him. He tried one more time as my poor co-driver let me around him while he was already wide open and I boosted and put what I guess was close to a city block on his car where I let off at 130mph bouncing the rev limiter. :p

More to come.....

Had a great time! Lincoln was well represented in Keatonsdad's yard... (well, minus the 2 Jeeps that showed up)

Sounds like a lot of fun Kirk. Similarly I was out the other day with a friend and a Z-06 pulled up beside us with no traffic in front just as we came up on a red light. So I said to my passenger make sure your strapped in as I planned on embarrassing a Z-06 but he turn left. RATS.

+2 on that! A big thanks to Keatonsdad for his hospitality and the great food that was prepared by him and all of the others. Mike Martin from the other forum was a phenomenal co-driver and a big thanks to him for getting the rental car lined up and his willingness to travel with me and get some great shots! For me this was the first true gathering for me where I got to meet some forum members in person and really get a firsthand perspective of how cool of members we have when they come out from behind their computers.

It sounds like a jet plane inside of the car at full boost and I am looking forward to having some fun modifying it while preserving it in its current condition as best as I can. It's getting cold here, so it will be parked very soon. Some flakes actually flew at the local track today I was hearing from a buddy. Just in the nick of time. :D

Thomas, don't hate me for this but I hate the low shift points. My NA car goes almost to 7K. :p

Here is a short WOT video with some bad shifting.

glad your enjoying it kirk. you'll have to come back again so we can have another meet i can actually show up to. again, congrats man!

Congrats on the car Kirk, glad you made it back safe.
Watching that video makes me want to go out and slap my SC on right now. Looking at the tach in the video made me cringe a little, I'm sure the work on the car was quality but if it were me I would still want to get it on a dyno for a tune so I knew what was going on. Just remember that thing still has a soft bottom end in it.
Looks like you guys had a good time. Congrats again.

Thanks man. It has spent plenty of time on the dyno and is a very safe setup at this point. Thomas told me there was a lot left on the table. The dyno sheet provided shows A/F ratios at 11.0 I'm done though. That was the only video I am going to do and it will be parked soon. Along with what you were saying it also needs gauges inside the car. Being totally blind with a blower setup is a bit nerve wracking to say the least and although the knock function has been retained in the tune, there is no sort of meth monitoring either. It needs a boost gauge, meth monitoring and probably a fuel pressure gauge. A bit needs to be done before things get too wild, but I am willing to wait it out and make sure things are done right.

You have alllllll winter to get it where you want it to be. Have fun and do it right! ;)

I would also rock an afr gauge to monitor it too. With a setup like that I'd want all the warning **** was about to go bad before they did, just a little extra insurance

WOW! I'd like to try shifting mine that high at least once. Thats a real sleeper being that quite. :D

Man it doesn't look to dirty in the pics. You can still see the reflection in the paint through the dirt I'm impressed and less embarrassed :)
