Borla Cat-Back System

I was thinking about getting a Borla Cat-Back System for my 2000 LS V8 Sport. I foundTHIS Cat-Back system on the Borla site. I was wondering if anyone has the same system or has any suggestions regarding how to make it work and sound the best. I'm thinking this is the kit I would need to get, but I'm not sure what size pipes it comes with. I wanted atleast 2 1/2" Pipes from the Cat-Back. (Maybe 3"???) I'm Looking to set this baby up right the first time, so any suggestions are much appreciated.

I also plan on getting the CAI and snorkel from llsoc this week. :Beer
 
Yo Propain,

Call Geno at Lincoln Motor Sport... They've got the most amazing system... Custom fit to your LS and the XpansionX mufflers rival anything out there... See the thread titled "They'rrrrrrrrre Baaaaaccckkkk" in the Lincoln Motor Sport vendor site. Then call LMS and speak with Geno... 2.5 pipe is what you want to use... 3" gets tough to fit in all the spaces properly. I did my MK8 there and it looks and sounds Un-F'n-Believable!

I'm almost 95% sure I'm gonna go with Borla, but I appreciate the links. Any suggestions on the Borla kit?
 
I think the biggest problem with the Borla is price. It's about twice that of the Magnaflow system. Also, I've heard the Borla and Magnaflow side by side and have to say the Magnaflow sounds better. The Borla has a "tin" sound and not the deep throaty sound of the Magnaflow. I'd recommend looking at the Magnaflow system. I've been running it on my car for over 2 years and love it. I think you'd be wasting your money on the Borla.

Ya know... I did find it on the Borla site for $649.00 so the price is around the same. If price was not an issue is there any difference in the two performance wise or overall quality?

I mean... I don't want to sound like a tin can going down the street. Does it not have a deep sound to it at all, or even a V8 feel? If that's the case I know for sure I wouldn't want it.

IMHO, it doesn't have to sound like my neighbors hot rod, but it has to sound way better than stock. Plus I'm also pairing it up with the CIA from llsoc.

I can tell you that the Borla does have a different sound than the Magnaflow. The performance gain will be the same between the Borla and Magnaflow. However, if they were the same price I'd still go with the Magnaflow.

That's what I have on my XLR.....Sound is awsome!!
Deep and throaty....no droan cruising the freeways.

hey man i just put the borla cat back on my navigator and it is awsome. looks and sounds great ...plus the install took 25 min. no joke!!

also i had problems getting my exhaust from a dealer because the price was reduced .....just like yours is .

go to borla.com
buy it ..they are great and i had my exhaust in 3 days!
they also told me that shipping would be $105.00 plus the cat back $505.00
next thing i know they credited my credit card back $55.00 for an over charge on shipping.

Now name a company like that!
