Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on Borla exhaust for our LSs.
I just recently went to there site to get a part # and they are having a sale on LS systems. I got a cat-back system delivered to Ohio for $705.00. So I called Jeg's performance to verify and see what they wanted for one and they want 849.95 and 2-3wks delivery. Needless to say I hoped all over it thru Borla's website. So anyone looking for a complete system with easy install here is a killer price!?

Yeah, Borla's are nice systems. I also have noticed that they tend to sell their stuff direct cheaper than through a middleman. But I have not seen it on a LS or even heard a clip yet. So let us know how it goes.

Will do Steve, I am pumped to get it on. I had one of their cat-back setups, on my 99 Jeep Wrangler and it sounded awesome, believe me anyone with Jeep was jealous. HAHA

Yeah, I had a Borla on my 91 GTA...Sounded like I had 500lb bombs going off in my engine. Too bad I put the B!tch in a ditch...I loved that car...and the mullet that came along with it

speaking of exhaust,
Have anyone heard of magnaflow muffler called hushpuppy?
I went to a local shop and 300C with them on it.
I ask them to let me hear the exhaust. man that thing was nice.
Im thinking of getting them on my LS.
taking out the stock pipes from cat, going to 2.5 in pipes.
I would add X-tube and a resonator. and bigger magnaflow dual tip.
that 300C was too loud without the resonator so the shop said I can try different size of resonator to fine tune the sound that I want.
all that for somewhere around $600-700 installed.
is that a good deal?

That depends, are they going to use stainless steel exhaust pipe? If not, then I would go with a Borla or Magnaflow kit.

Summit is selling the Borla LS cat-back for $637.50 plus S/H.

FYI Summit Performance is selling the Borla LS exhaust for $637.50...No idea how much shipping is.

I got mine from Borla for 649.95 + shipping to Ohio from Cali was 58.05 for a total of 708.00. Thats pretty damn good if you ask me seeing that about 3 months I was looking a Borla exhaust system where 899-999 for the LS.

Scott,

I've heard the Borla before on an LS and it sounds very good. You won't be disappointed in it. I've got the Magnaflow and would replace it with another one if need be. You really can't go wrong with any cat-back system. The stock system is definitely restrictive on the 2000-2002 LS. Lincoln changed the stock system on the 2003 and up version to be less restrictive but I bet there could still be a good power increase with a better system.

Not a bad price. I just bought the magna flow system from performance peddler for 540.00 delivered to south Texas. Although it is back ordered a couple of weeks. 150 dollar difference, I will wait a couple of weeks.

I saw it on E-bay. They wanted 649.99 or something. If you scrolled down and read the article, the exhuast came with a CAT and something else. If you didn't want the extra stuff (CAT) they would drop the price. I called and told them I saw it on E-bay. Made them an offer of 540.00 and they took it. Then to my suprise they told me that included shipping.

HOLY Toledo!
Want to talk about a difference in sound but also in power? This exhaust system kicks major ass. It has a unquie sound to it thats all its own, and I simple love it. The guys at the muffler shop never installed a Borla system (l live in now where Ohio) and where highly impressed. The manager said he thought it was going to a lil bit louder but loved as much as I did. Well if you own a 00-02 and want some unleashed power and sound get this system.

Heads up i got the last kit from summit...650 after shipping and handling. Damn fine deal if you ask me.

How much they charge you?????

So what is the sound if you can describe? Its getting close to the time for me to see about a new system. I want something that rumbles at idle, that is pretty noticable to anyone near it, decent rumble as I accelerate normally and just yell when I get on it. Nothing that well make people go "oh lord, thats annoying" but having them say "wow, listen to that."

Wish there was clips of the super 40's and borla system to compare on an ls v8.

Any body know if the Borla will fit the V-6 5 speed. According to the Borla site they don't have a system for that combination.

how does a 2000 LS with a borla exhaust sound compared to a 2005 stock exhaust? I have a 2000 and my friend has an 05. THe sound of the 05 isnt loud but just has this awesome sound under WOT. im just curious is the borla for my car is comparible in sound to an 05 stock exhaust. thanks:)

It will be louder not like ear shattering louder but just louder at idle and WOT. I personally think it sounds better then any other stock exhaust I have ever heard.

-Scott-

I've had a Borla for about 3yrs on my 00. I barely notice it, but I know when I originally swapped it out it was a little louder than stock. At idle it has a little bit of grumble to it.

ohio -

What options did you chose on borla's site? Any type of LS combination for my 2002 LS w/ LSE does not show any part availability (like they don't make it). I tried non-LSE, manual trans vs auto trans, and got no results. Any advice before I call?

The Magna-Flow doesn't list for the LSE either. Its because the non-LSEs don't have bumper cut outs and thats how the exhaust comes, with turn downs for the standard LSs. I put the Magna-Flow system on and used the stock tips, problem solved.
