I would like to know what kind of brake upgrades (kits or custom stuff) people have done, and what they think of the results? I have heard mixed opinions of the results people have had. I do not do any autcross or anything of that nature but I am considering a brake upgrade. My main goals are 1. Better pads (low or no dust!)
2. longevity I will be doing mostly city driving now, so I don't want something I will have to replace often 3. better performance I always try to upgrade when I replace something on my vehicles.
Thanks for all the info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am new here and I am soaking up al the excellent info from you pros!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put in Posi-Quiet ceramics (ebay), they stop nicely and I love that don't produce much dust at all. I think most ceramic pads will satisfy your low dust request.

If you stay with the stock stuff, my only real suggestion would be to get some Stainless Steel Brake Lines. for the money spent that is the best money for improvement to the brakes. Next would be some good pads Hawk, Quiet-Stop or any ceramic type brakes pads, then maybe some drilled rotors. I replace the pads with Ceramic and Drilled rotors and felt that is was better. Later on I replaced the Brake hose with the Stainless Steel Lines and WOW!!!! that was what I was looking for. The pedal is so tight now and the cars seems to stop so much quicker.

I just ordered front and rear EBC sport slotted rotors, front and rear EBC Redstuff pads and Stop Tech stainless front brake lines from LSKoncepts.com. Should be here soon!

Ha, beat ya NYC, I got my EBC rotors, and red stuff pads, late last week...
I am looking forward to doing this, this weekend...along with the dccv replacement...:(
Whatever you do, dont expect a change for the better, if you go OE parts. If you want it to be better, and last longer, go aftermarket. Ford brakes suck. The rotor material is bad, soft, and or is simply less than what it should be.
I can actually tell you the exact near panic stop that warped one, or more of my stock rotors.
On my F150, I warped 3 sets of OE rotors, before I pulled my head out, and got a nice set of raybestos slotted, and cross-drilled rotors. They have been on for longer than the OE stuff, and I have not had one problem with them.
I will never buy OE parts, or non ceramic pads again!
There, any questions?

Thanks for the heads up. I am thinking of the slotted and drilled rotors, some ceramic pads, s.s brakeline, and good fluid. I was mainly concerned with the longevity of the slotted and drilled rotors. I would love to go with a "big" brake kit, but for what I do driving, the $ isn't justified.
