Looking at the Bridgestone Potenza RE960A/S Pole Position for my LS V8 Premium with sport option. Tirerack.com lists them for $160. Just found them locally (trusted shop) for $118/each - $660 installed with road hazard coverage. Any good/bad experiences from anyone?

I had an older version on the Potenza's on my last car, they were insanely grippy in the summer, but forget about any snow traction at all. FWIW i've been happy with every bridgestone tire i've had.

yup, i agree. and due to no winter driving on them, this is the 3rd car i have put them on :D

that's awfully cheap- check the date of manufacture on them

I have had them on my car for a few year now and I love them. They are great all season tire and I haven't had any issue with them in light snow.

Installed today, they are from last year but I'm ok with that. I've had great experiences with this shop with even the smallest of issues. So far these things are ultra-responsive and incredibly smooth.

I love my 960 Potenza's, wet or dry.
This year, we got no snow, and no ice, so I cant comment on that, but wet or dry...the best tire I have ever had on the LS.

Right now I have General Altimax HP on my stock 16s.. They are alright for the 445 installed. They seem to be out of balance right now so I may have to get that fixed.

As for these on the LS, I have nothing but good things to say. I used to have Contis up front and Michilen HydroEdge in the back. Every stop sign, ABS would kick on because of the Contis. Every time I pulled away from a stop sign, the tires would spin. Mind you, this was in the rain but jeeze.

I ran the Generals for some of the winter and they went through the snow with ease. The only time I got stuck was trying to go up a 5% grade pushing 1 1/2 feet of snow. Also, I had to turn onto that grade so I only had like a 10 MPH headstart. :D

I had those Potenzas on my '06, and I replaced them with Michelin's Pilot Sport A/S Plus on the last go-'round. The Bridgestones were outstanding tires, and I may very well go back to them when the time comes--there's a reason they've been at or near the top of their class in the Tire Rack's ratings for several years. I'd hate to have to live on the difference between them and my current Michelins.
