Hey guys. So I bought a 2001 lincoln LS V8 on Saturday. Got an awesome deal on it, but it obviously has lead a rough life until it got into my hands. A few of the problems are:
The interior is really dirty and owner was a smoker.
The center area of the dash is in rough shape, has a really cheap alpine aftermarket head unit, wiring was hacked instead of factory harness adapter, and the bezel around the center vents is gone. Also had misc bolts missing when taking apart the center console and radio area.
Front windows didn't work. Found out that regulartors were bad and the owner zip tied the bracket on the glass to the top of the regulators! Seriously, regulators are about $60 a piece.
Car looks like it hasn't been washed in years
Heat doesn't work
Inside driver door handle is busted
The good is that the engine runs smoothly, transmission is good, a/c works, and there's no major dents or paint problems. Im also a pretty good detailer and pretty sure i can bring the paint and wheels back to life. I can take a car that looks like this
And make it look like this
I've already taken care of the window problems. I just bought a factory 6 disc radio with climate controls on eBay. About to buy an ashtray setup from a member here. And I'm about to order a new handle and center vent bezel.
Here's some pics of what she looks like now.
You can see I made a half ass attemp at polishing the one headlight just to see if I needed to sand em.
Here's an idea of how dirty this is
Here's the hacked radio harness. I don't understand why people just don't spend the $10 for an adapter harness. Soooo much easier!
And here's a couple shots of the great zip tie job
I'll get some better pics once I start the detailing process. Sadly, the whole purpose of this purchase was to flip the car, but I might change mind after driving it around for a bit .
