So I finally got my old, non-remote start, LS remote and programmed it to my car hoping if I held down unlock it would open all the windows and sunroof like my last one, no such luck! I guess the factory remote start disables that feature. I'm not sure if it was worth that tradeoff. :(

it will prolly work if you put the key in the car and hold it in the unlock direction.

problem is...if your that close to the car, why not just get in it

I am so glad you posted this!! I was scheduled to have the dealership install my remote start on Friday, but they never told me about the windows. That is a key feature for my car (black on black).

Cheers!

I think the feature is cool but I don't use it that much and with the remote start the AC will come on if its hot enough in the car, and you left it in the auto position. I dunno, I have remote start but its not factory so I still have the window feature.

What does black on black have to do with it?

i hate remote start every car that i have had it on it ruin the starter but none of them were install at the factory when the car was built they were put on after

I used it constantly in the summer, I am not a big AC user. Always ride with everything open whenever possible.

Do ALL LS's have this feature or just the gen2?

Glad I could help dude! I imagine if you got an aftermarket one it would probably still work. In the factory remote start, the "trunk" button becomes the start button, and you hold unlock to pop the trunk.

WOW! lol thats awesome, never knew my car had this feature! Thanks again guys, yall are the :q!!

All I think?

I just tired mine a few minutes ago and it worked. I have a Gen1 so I guess this came on all LS's. You learn something new everyday on this forum:D

is there any way to make the windows go up with the lock button? like some awkward procedure like the seatbelt light

you could if you wanna spend the money......my shop can do ANYTHING but it'll cost you a pretty penny.....even headers will cost 3000+

maybe i'll re-wire the second remote as a joke. you know, the alarm goes off when you hit unlock. trunk opens when you hit alarm. car locks when you hit trunk, and the car unlocks when you hit lock.

how much do dealers usually charge for the remote start upgrade to the fob?

im having similiar issues with my 2001 Lincoln LS V8. The battery is not maintaining an enough charge

For the eletronic key to your car it's 60-80 bucks at any Ford motors dealership....

no, except if you put the key in the door and hold it to lock, they will roll up, hold it to unlock and it will roll down.

there was a thread here bout a year ago that had all the little things listed that were "unknown" features

I have a Viper remote starter and with it you can roll the windows and sunroof 1/2 way or all the way down as well as also rolling them up.
