Buying an LS

Actually, ALL LSes are 5-speed. Only a very small percentage were manual 5-speeds.

Sorry for basically posting twice, I thought I posted & didn't see, especially between all the fighting posts.
Anyway, I'm well aware that any car has it's problems. I drive a Ford Probe-lem, so I've seen my fair share (well, more than fair share).
I mean, if 4 things are the most common, that's good. I can live with that.
I did forget to ask, how is the LS with air leaks and fogging?
No, I don't have in sight, but a friend at work, his step dad is a used car wholesaler, so I told him to find me one.

another couple minor problems you might run into...

DCCV - used to open the vents for the dual zone climate control. it often fails in the open position which results in a steady stream of hot air coming through one or both sides when the a/c is on. part is not too expensive (about $200 canadian) but labour will run close to $400... bonus if you can do this yourself.

power windows I've heard of going as well, but at 153000 km i've yet to have any issues with those.

as for electrical problems, things are bound to pop up, like people here said it's a luxury car so it's a given that there's more to go wrong. but it's a great car to drive especially if you enjoy road trips, and at the prices they're going at, a really good buy.
